Ya whatever. No big deal right? Company management has a pipe installed on the ship to discharge oil into the ocean. Ya whatever Mr travel hat.

And please don't get me wrong. What I mean by "one of these ships" is specifically Princess Cruises. Not lumping them all in together here.

They got caught. They're paying a $40 million fine. They are going to be court supervised for some time to come. For the next several years, at least, Princess Cruise ships will probably the cleanest ones out there, more rigorously adhering to environmental standards than any other cruise line in the world.

Honestly, if you're worried about the environmental impact of a cruise ship, Princess is probably the very best line to be on for the next few years. (At least, until the next one gets caught!)

I'll go on princess in a heartbeat. I've been on this boat and it's sisters emerald and ruby princess. Princess is owned by carnival who owns carnival, Cunard, p and o and many other brands.

I don't like what they did, but I can't believe this is the only boat on the oceans with such a pipe. In the old days a lot worse was done routinely by ships at sea under the thought it was a spit in the ocean. Glad they got caught and hope others will modify and or get caught too.

These boats put out a lot of pollution from their engines and incinerators too.

That all said, short of converting em all to sailing ships, ill be on them as soon as I can afford a trip.

I love these mighty ships and the high seas.
