That IS fantastic news! Well worth the drive and a very nice setting. Does anyone know when D' Coal Pot will be moving to their new building where Palm's Delight used to be in Carrot Bay? Also, it looks like (via Quito's web cam) that the old Big Banana is now open, but not sure if the restaurant is open. The roof on the structure at the front of the building is only half done, but it often looks like they've got at least a bar open.

Slow moving on the new Coal Pot while we mourn the passing of Palm's Delight..D Coal Pot folks signed another year lease, I heard , to stay in the old place til the new one is finished..Big Bana was kinda open before I left three weeks ago..but a very bored barkeep could not be bothered to serve me a cold one and talk about the menu..so I left..

Thanks, Mal. Ilon time goes on...and on, I guess. Sounds like not much has changed despite new owners at Big Banana. My husband and I used to stop by the bar on non cruise ship days to hang out for a while. We didn't much last year because the place had changed for the worse. Sounds like the new staff haven't caught onto the "quaint custom" of good customer service just yet!

It was actually Arianna's for a few years after the Boathouse closed. It's a tough location, not a lot of traffic. I wish them all the best! They certainly deserve a little good luck. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go as often ... unless they get the street lights fixed. I don't drive at night unless the road is well lit.

Great news. I have always loved the location. A bit of a drive for "north shore" folks but I'm sure it will be worth every minute. Lots of parking, nice view of Sea Cows Bay, quiet venue. Inside dining as well as a large covered patio all on second floor. I need a reservation 3rd week in Feb.

I think this is a great spot too. A nice building, great parking and a pleasant peaceful location.
