What is the least expensive way to get to St. Barts from SXM. We know that we will need to "bring our wallets". Better to spend on the island than on getting there. Is there a ferry from Marigot--even a slow one--that is cheaper than the voyager?

The three ferries are Voyager, Great Bay Express, and Edge. Google and you'll find info on all three. Some Voyager departures are from Marigot, and some are from Oyster Pond. Great Bay Express departs from P'burg. Edge departs from Marigot.

All depending on the prices, but we flew over out of GrandCase, and Ferry back and arrived at Simpson Bay resort. Gave us more time on the island.

Look at flying from/to Grand Case - airfare is sometimes almost the same as the ferry.

I agree with the suggestion to fly out of Grand Case instead of taking a ferry. If you are firm on taking the ferry then consider that not all ferries are created equal, and that Voyager has the smoothest ride.

Not sure if this is still a possibility but some of the timeshare presentations (in the past) used to offer a St. Barts trip as one of the "prizes" for putting up with the presentation. If they still do, for an hour or so of your time you might be able to get a trip this way.
We went years ago and did one of the ferries. Not bad but it makes for a long day. Glad we did it but no desire to do it again.

This is a thank you to all who responded. I never even considered flying as I thought the cost would be much More. Will look into that as well as the ferries.

Winair from SXM was very pleasant experience for us two years ago.
There is no place like SXM.

With the SXM international departure fees, it's usually less expensive to fly St Barth Commuter out of SFG in Grand Case than it is to fly Winair out of SXM.
