Flying out of JFK in January to St Maarten. Was able to secure Mint seat upgrade for only $100 more than base seat. I know it just started but was wondering if anyone has used the Mint service to SXM and has any comments

I have not used it to SXM but flew Mint last month r/t from JFK to LAX.
I was alone so I got the single seat/pod.
The food was fabulous.
The service was stellar.
I would not hesitate to fly JB Mint again.

I recall seeing one of the members, Lotsan and her husband I'm thinking, flew JB mint to SXM recently. From the photo on FB, IT looked wonderful and much like the standard AA first class pod seats on the JFK/LAX flights. It's offered to SXM but only on limited flights. We have several JB flights booked right now and it's only offered (and at the paltry sum of $1300.00 one way I might add....)on one out of the four. If it was available for a hundred it's a good deal but on a three and a half hour flight to SXM, IMO that's a lot of money if one were to buy it outright, considering you would still have to add a flight home.

Kudos to you, though, loubct!! Oh, to be so lucky. I'm guessing there must have been status or some other required connection for this? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I just kept checking as there was availability. It was over $1,300 for a long time then fell to just over $400 when I booked. The return flight at this time is over 2K. I doubt I will be as lucky for that leg. I'll be sure to post my review

Mint for $100 is a real bargain. I paid $90 each way just for the "Even more space" seats from BOS for january

Guessing you are back by now, but perhaps not? Just wondering how the MINT seat experience went on JB and what specific extra services they provided on the JFK to SXM flight.
