We are head to Los Cabos next week to visit friends the day after the election. hmmmm ok... back in the day when TTOL had a current events thread a lot of folks told me I was not real smart... maybe they were right.
Our friends have a place on the Pacific coast west of Cabo San Lucas. I plan on blogging from there and hope you will follow along. I will post link when I upload. My goal is to snap a picture of the green flash - wish me luck!
However, if anyone has any must see or do things I would love to hear them. It has been 9 years since our last visit and I am sure there have been changes (good and bad) but any inputs would be great. We would like to take our friends out for a special dinner… Suggestions? Thanks in advance

* Re: Headed to Los Cabos Hey Tom, Never been but I know by your posts you love the history of places. I am a big John Macdonald fan. Travis McGee is my hero, if you know what I mean. I know that JM wrote some book while living in Mexico and a couple are around the Cabo area. Here is a website I found that references some of them. I know they are all good reads and being written in the 60's and 70's it would be fun to see what is still around. If you take this route I hope you have better luck than me trying to find where the Busted Flush was docked in Fort Lauderdale. http://www.mexconnect.com/articles/3323-the-damned-by-john-d-macdonald

TravelHat - thanks for the recommendation. I have already selected my travel book for this trip. Back in the spring when we visited Malta, salica recommended "The Kappillan of Malta". Well I bought the book and have not read it - so I decided I NEED to read it this trip.
However, I will search out JM and the adventures of Travis McGee when I return. We are hoping Spain or France will be our next adventure, so what a better place to read something about Mexico <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

Just thought you would like some local color or history before. TheTravis McGee ones are quick reads. I went to a used book store a couple of times and built the series. It was fun to start it from the beginning.

Kathy,
We did not hit any sports bars this visit. However, I remembering hearing my friend saying he always goes to Desperados for big games.
The bar is in the heart of the marina, and if you do not like it there many others around it. Let me know how it works out and hope you do a trip report.

I just realized that the Packers are playing the Redskins.
I am changing my recommendation... There are no sports bars in Cabo - Stay in the room <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

Hey, Tom, you don't need to have worried. Skins play the Packers this Sunday, which is before these folks head to Los Cabos on the 28th.. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Smile.gif" alt="" />

Ahh you are right. My feet may be in Virginia, but I think my head is still in Cabo. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" />

Titan's took it to the Packers last Sunday. Fortunately I was there to watch it but would have preferred to be where Tom was.
