Our flight from EWR was late leaving due to a radio problem, but we arrived safely and Mickey was there with our car. We checked into Pelican Marina Residences - first time in the new bldg. Very impressive - wonderful view.
First night we met Elaine and Island Gem (Elizabeth and
Dave) at La Bomba for music and fellowship, AFTER Steve had his Lobster Bisque at Halsey's. An early night as we had been up since 4AM that day.
Beaches: Cupecoy (thanks Harry and Alan for telling me about the tidal pools -where I could get wet! and thanks to Dany for making sure I got safely down the rocks to the beach!)
Orient Andy and Cheryl's new place looks great and the Mussels are as good as ever! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />
Mullet Bay: why don't people clean up after themselves? We took a large garbage bag and threw away all out stuff and everything around us. The water was wonderful.
Pelicanlots of palapas. Good to see Malti back at the beach.
Restaurants: Peg Leg Pub, Halsey's, Jimbo's, Le Charolais, Uncle Harry's and 2 nights at The Stone.
Due to a tractor trailer overturning at the new roundabout on Cay Hill/Cole Bay- we skipped traffic and went to the Stone. We loved everythinjg we had at the Stone. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" /> New location was great for us! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" />
TTOL at Karakters with Elizabeth and Dave, Elaine and Bill, Steve and Sue and their 2 kids. What a beautiful setting and such friendly people. It was a delight, as were the tapas for our meal that night.
The last 2 days we moved over to White Sand Beach Resort - we were all by ourselves at this lovely spot. Steve was adopted by a lovely little kitty who wandered in, obviously loved because she had a collar and was very friendly. 2 days of rain and overcast is NOT the way to end a vacation, but we had a fabulous time with all our "new best friends". We even got Beth to feed the fish at Orient one day. Beth kept me from falling over, I helped her feed fish a Good deal all around.
Time was too short, but we met Guitar Jim at The Stone and later at Uncle Harry's - wonderful guitar music. We will follow you next trip too Jim! Flight home was on time and we were met by a wheel chair to get me through custroms and out to the car so I didn't have to portray Chester from Gunsmoke the entire way through Newark Airport. Home and planning our next trip in April!!!!
Pics will be posted at a later date, Meanwhile - thanks to all for helping me hobble around!
