Here's the scoop on the flights to St. Barths: St. Barth flight info: St. Barths Flights 70 € each way/pp, or about $300 per couple round trip. The flight can take 9 passengers max. Flight time is 15 minutes. This is the high speed ferry website: St. Barths Ferry

It has been many, many years since I did it but waaaaay back when it was cheaper and easier to do this, no departure tax, customs or immigration to deal with. France to France, is it still that way?

Yes, it's still that way. The flight out of Grand Case doesn't charge many of the SXM fees. Total fees out of SXM are $52.41.
I don't have an old St Barth Commuter ticket handy, but my last Winair ticket out of SXM was $148.41 for one person, one way, including all taxes and fees.

if you're able to book at the "right" time and get the cheapest fare class seats on WinAir, you can pay within $20-30 (r/t) of what it costs on SBC...may be worth it if using SXM is more convenient for you
