Is this a big deal? Busy? I just found a cheap rental for Thanksgiving week but the flights are pretty high. Is this normal? Thank you.

Many of the restaurants have good reputationsfor putting out a turkey dinner. Topper's is high on the list.

Our usual weeks include Thanksgiving. We don't go for the turkey dinner, preferring to have a more island experience on that day. It's the end of low season, and things do start picking up. Airfare is always high when holidays are involved.

My Thanksgiving dinner is often Mahi - fresh and local.
Thanksgiving week is a busy week flight-wise. A week or so later you may find even better prices on rentals, and probably better prices on flights. The first 2 weeks of December can be a relative bargain.

We went at Thanksgiving a couple times years ago and enjoyed it immensely. Would love to go again, but right now, some family commitments. Flights will be full, yes, and expensive, because many people from the US can get off a week or longer, with using fewer vacation days. On island, if you have to have a US style meal, you can certainly find it. The first time we went at TG we tried very hard to find someplace that did turkey, etc., went there and then had something else to eat altogether!! Only problem is the expensive flights, but over all, a lovely time to go!

Our timeshare weeks used to include Thanksgiving but because flights were so expensive, we swapped them to two weeks in December. Lots of places will have traditional turkey but like GaKaye, we usually had something different.

Thanksgiving? Wasn't that three weeks ago?
