Wondering and worrying about this weather pattern, we are heading down on Saturday from NY Direct, should this be a concern to us?

If it stays a tropical wave or even a tropical storm, I wouldn't worry too much about it. We were on the island in 2010 or 2011 when Thomas (Tomas?) rolled through and it created a couple cloudy days and some rain, but those are the days that you can do indoor activities like visit a casino or the perfume factory or something like that. The island is so small that storms USUALLY don't linger too long over the land mass and move right along. The good news is that, after a tropical wave or storm, the next couple days are the most beautiful blue skies and nice breezes. I hope everything works out well for you. Enjoy and take a deep breath.

We are heading down on Saturday as well. I read this article earlier today. St. Martin should be relatively unaffected by this weather front.

Weather Underground is showing a track significantly south of SXM, although the storm could well be a problem for islands in the Southern Caribbean.
