Never a good idea to ride your bike in the dark.

Egads. At 66, maybe he should back off just a smidge.

The road going down to Leverick Bay has 2 or 3 humongous speed bumps. He apparently hit one of these in the dark.

Notably didn't choose to go to Peebles to check the bruise

The speed bumps in leverick Bay are very dangerous even for a car. They are very abrupt with little to no signs showing the bumps especially at night. It appears that owners of property at leverick Bay paved their section of the road with about 3-4 inches of concrete.
My feeling is that there are far too many speed bumps on Virgin Gorda with no signs or yellow marks on the raod and again at night it is dangerous.
Government should evaluate all these bumps throughout the island. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/smashpc.gif" alt="" />

Yellow paint - applied once a year, would go a long way
Alas, budget appears not to allow for such an extravagance

He has a high speed boat, which would take him to his jet at Beef Island.

Pounding in the chop on a speed boat? Not for me with cracked bits... I note some medication in one hand?

Me too, but I don't like to be ostentatious so I leave the jet and boat at home and just take the ferry.

Got to agree with that, much prefer a heli, versus pounding through some waves in a go fast boat?? No thanks on the boat!

Couple observations, when I'm 66 I hope to have his zest for life and adventure! I read where he said "if you fall flat on your face, at least you're moving forward.", great attitude! and that picture of him holding the beer...outstanding!! He will bounce back quickly, no doubt!

Pure speculation... but Branson was on a training run with that bike. Either one or both of those could be part of a bike training computer, uber fit bit, and/or apple watch. Who knows maybe he was texting or posting to social media when he launched off the "sleeping policeman" in the dark. If Branson did not have both on while he was still laying in the street on Virgin Gorda. I might think one was a tiny dive computer letting everyone know when it was safe again for Richard to fly.

The one on the right is a regular large face steel case watch. We need one of the high tech consumer electronics experts to determine the gadget on the left arm....

When we stayed at Euphoria in 2008, we drove up and down the road in Leverick Bay very, very slowly in the daytime or at night. You'd think he'd be familiar enough with the roads to know better. But perhaps alcohol and enthusiasm beat out wisdom.

One of them is probably a GPS fitness monitor/tracker rather than a regular watch. Some guys do that even though most of the gps watches have clocks in them.

Maybe Sir Richard could spring for the yellow road stripes...that road is very bumpy in spots and every "silent policeman" should be marked anyway. I am sure the government wouldn't object.
