Does any know the approximate price for a case of Miller Lite in St. Thomas? We could pre order at our resort for $35.49 a case but don't know if this is a decent price.

That would be a high price. Resorts don't allow you to pre-order things for anywhere near a reasonable price. Otherwise they wouldn't make any money. If you're going to be on island for more than a day or so, I would head to the store yourself.

Many many years ago I had a 6 pax charter and was requested 10 cases of Miller Lite. It was very hard to find in the BVI at that time. I found the 10 cases and had to dust all of them (who would want miller lite in BVI???) As we are walking back to Trellis from the airport on arrival I am chatting with one of the guest and say "I have acquired the 10 cases of Miller lite", he stopped, and say "Ronnie, WTF? you didn't order any beer for the rest of us?", it went downhill from there. Ronnie was such a class character he was thrown out of Sidney's on JVD. It took a long time to laugh at the stories Ronnie generated.

Are you trying to save money based on comparing what you pay back home or what you are saving buying at the bar in the resort or surrounding restaurants. What you pay back home doesn't matter. Pay the 36.00 and enjoy the trip.

Plaza Extra has Miller Lite on special for $9.99 per 12-pack this week. Cost-U-Less is usually comparable, but sometimes Plaza Extra beats them. We check the Plaza Extra circular ahead of time.
Food Center has the most consistent US craft beer and Belgian beer selection. We also see cans from Sierra Nevada, Cigar City, Oskar Blues and Wittekerke.

Thanks for your responses. We been to many islands in the Caribbean and have paid up to $45/case for local brands that are only 10oz cans. I was just curious about prices in St. Thomas because I read so much about things being expensive but I really don't see that when I compare to other places we've been. Our party drinks a lot of beer so we are not just looking to purchase one case. Miller Lite happens to be the preferred choice and I was surprised to see it on the list (but then again St. Thomas is a USA island) but really, they can drink any brand. Usually when we eat out, Presidente, Caribe or other local beers become the beer of choice.

I stopped by Cost-U-Less after the gym, and between rain showers. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" /> They had a case of 30 (I guess that's a case and a 6 pack?) for $19.99.
