I was watching the SBB video cam and just saw the Jet Blue flight race down the runway but then it aborted takeoff. Must have been scary for passengers. It then went back to airport.

The plane is sitting on the airport sidelines probably waiting for mechanical help as the pilot said the reason for aborting was lack of air speed just prior to takeoff.

If you look at the SBB Beach cam you will see the plane on the lower right side of the picture. The passengers are still on board and it doesn't look like any buses have arrived to take them off.

There is a video on the Maho beach cam, which cuts off, right at the crucial point! It seems like they are saying they aborted the takeoff more than once?

Seems like that this was a flight that was scheduled to go out at 10:00 AM but has a problem with the front wheels. Think they have tried about 3 times to take off. Sure wouldn't want to be a passenger on that flight.

Yes, that's what I thought it looked like, that they had tried more than once to take off, unsuccessfully. That would have made me EXTREMELY nervous. Weird, though, it claims the destination was FLL, and as far as I know, Jet Blue doesn't fly nonstop from SXM to FLL...
Possibly getting ready to try again? There is a JB on the runway.

I was listening earlier today and the pilot thanked the air traffic controller for the "hospitality" for the last two days and was hoping they'd be able to take off today. I was under the impression the jet has been experiencing issues for a few days now. I also don't think there are any passengers on the plane because just before his aborted takeoff I noticed ALL the window shades were down. Every single one. They usually do this to keep the heat out of the passenger cabin but if it was full of passengers at least a few would have lifted the window shades. PTZ TV is reporting nose wheel problems.

Oh, OK. That actually makes sense that they might be going to FLL, if they are dead heading it back somewhere.. I hope the plane is empty..
If you follow the side of the screen toward the bottom, it says they have been having problems for a couple of days.

I'm not sure where or how I knew this but I, too, was under the impression there were no passengers on the plane and they were testing it the one time I saw it. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I also saw the aborted takeoff today. It seemed odd that every window screen was closed. I'm not sure there were any passengers on board. The tower asked for the reason for the abort, the pilot said lack of airspeed.

If all shades were closed, then you know there are no passengers on board. All shades can be closed with passengers on board with exception of seat 1A and shades on overwing exits.

Sounds like mechanical issues.
