I wondering if anyone could provide a current update on the sargassum weed situation on the beaches? Particularly in front of BSV and at Orient.
Regards,
Dave

I saw a little blurb in the Daily Herald today or yesterday, possibly, stating that the seaweed had started to return a little on the "eastern" beaches. I have a hard time with the concept of east and west, as it relates to SXM, but the picture I believe was of Guana Bay, possibly. I saw also that the group paid by the government of the french side to clean seaweed from the french side beaches was being used to assist in a criminal investigation, so apparently it can't be bad anywhere on the french side right now, as of yet, anyway. There was basically no seaweed at BSV the first week of June, but that was over a month ago, obviously.

Am here now. Have seen no seaweed on the eastside beaches. Went on a boat trip two weeks ago that left through the Dutch side bridge on the way to Tintamare. Saw no seaweed in the water until almost to Tintamare and even then it was very little. Much much better than this time last year. Went deep-sea fishing last year and spent most of our time cleaning seaweed from our lines.

Was at Orient July 1st to 8th,some seaweed, most of seaweed was above Coco Beach toward Mt. Vernon. Palm Beach was raking the seaweed daily off their beach.
