If it is properly attributed, as it was, it does not violate copyright law if you post the text

I would disagree with that. Fair use of copyrighted works say you may publish excerpts, not whole articles. If you wanted to republish whole articles, you would need the copyright holders permission.

wilsonck--Correct. It doesn't matter whether you attribute it or not, you cannot copy and paste whole sections of copyrighted material.

.....and legalities aside, this is Carol's site, owned and operated by her for us. If she says no cut and paste, only links, well the RULE is no cut and paste only links. Period.

Sorry, no, that's not the point. The point is that you cannot copy and paste whole articles or long sections. It is a violation of copyright. Doesn't matter where you do it..
