We are looking for suggestions on a hotel in Tortola for a night next May before the start of our charter. We will be leaving out of Hodges Creek Marina for our charter. We don't need a 5 star, but would prefer a nice, clean environment with a beach view if possible. We will have some newbies with us and don't want to start their trip out with a bad hotel experience! We will need to hit a grocery the next morning also, so something convenient to shopping is also preferred! Thanks in advance.

We are doing a sleep over on the boat the next night! But our flights were cheaper going out another day earlier, so we are adding another day to our trip! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

If you are arriving via ferry through Road Town, Maria's by the sea is convenient (2 minute walk from ferry) and clean. However, it is a place to stay, not a resort on a beach.

Tamarind Club is convenient to Hodges Creek and a short drive to the beach. They have a very nice swim up bar and great food.

Assuming like most arriving in the BVI after a long day of travel everyone will be tired and unlikely to make much use of a beach. ..and early the next day to the boat I would second Maria's by the sea for your crew. In years past we would meet up with friends at THE Dove ..or cafe de mare..depending on budget and degree of fatigue. The Dove changed hands and I hear it is not the same..was fine dining at its best..still have Cafe Demare or Pussers close by. For a little extra $$ can get the newbies a view out ver road harbor with a balcony. Always clean..good AC and hot water . The rooms facing the harbor are only a few bucks more..come with a balcony and will put your crew in an island vibe while still enjoying very good accomodations.

Capriccio Di Mare is the place you mean..very good, reasonable Italian cuisine across from the RT ferry dock..Pusser's is just not for me and heard very mixed things about the"new" Dove..loved the old one.
