French or Dutch side? Is it timeshare or can they be rented by the day or week? Can't find a website for them. Numerous sites come up for rentals of Villas, etc but I couldn't find the specific site for Beachside, unless I am searching under the wrong name.

John and Bev gave you the website. It is Dutch side, a hotel, not a timeshare. You can arrive and leave any day of the week. I've never tried to rent for less than an entire week, but some times during the year, they have a minimum stay, I think.

Since it was off season in June, I rented for 5 days no problem. My wag (wild [censored] guess) was that we were about half full.

Nice place. Kitchen is well stocked. Good quality pots pans etc.

You can see their location if you google maps satellite. Look at th arc of beach next to th runway. They are the first cluster of white buildings on the west end of the beach. There are 14 units. The place is secured by gate. A security guard stays on the beach at night. Like most of us, he spend some time playing with his smartphone. Fortunately, the dog does not get distracted and barks at anyone coming along the beach a night.

Thanks all. I saw the beautiful pictures posted by Carol (breakfast with her dear hubby). The beach looked beautiful, and I was interested in checking the place out. We have always stayed at Club O, but might consider something different.

I did the google search thing, but all I came up with was Villa rental agents, and condos in SXM. I thought maybe I had the wrong name.

paul--that security guard is new, and he doesn't work all the time, thankfully. The long time security guard left. Not sure why.

The beach there is NOT nude, but otherwise, it is a perfect beach. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Carol. I didn't think it was C/O being on the Dutch side. It still looks like a beautiful beach, and I think we would enjoy sitting on the back deck with some cool beverages watching the planes take off and land.

If it helps at all, and as much as we love and thoroughly enjoy our timeshare, the few days we had at BSV were absolutely wonderful and among some of the best we've had in SXM in years. It's a wonderful feeling to make your coffee early and take it out to the beach and enjoy the peacefulness of it all. And it's got to be even better now with El Zafira right next door.

Respectfully,

You would not be looking at the planes taking off but enjoying a beautiful view of Simpson Bay.

As Bob and Dot said, on the deck by the ocean, you will not see the planes. But if you are down by the pool, you will definitely see the planes.. If you decide to book there, enjoy!

Great pool! But only 13 units for rental. (unless something has changed #11 is privately owned) Book early as certain times of the year fill up very quickly! We were not able to book for next year even though I tried booking shortly after our return! Very disappointed as we have been going to BSV since '07.

Number 11 is still privately owned and when finally finished, will be much different than the other units. ...and not that it matters that much, but I think that they are no longer renting out #6, as Yolanda had been staying there whenever she comes.

Laurel--I know they are not sold out for the entire year. Sounds like you should change your dates somewhat..

I do know that other times are available but April is the time we always go except for an occasional July with all the family. People we like to visit with are on island then. Plus with our own business it is a slower time for us and easier to get away. Fall is too early to escape and winter is too expensive to stay at Beachside. I know Yolanda was there for several months this year. We enjoyed a great visit with her! Not sure what she plans to do next year. So if they aren't renting #6 that makes one less unit on a prime spot!

Please note that only the bedrooms are air conditioned, unless that has changed in the past 8 months. The beach is beautiful.
