When I rented my car yesterday, I asked about the blue parking disc needed in Marigot. I was told that only residents need that .... and, since I'm not a resident and I have Dutch side tags, I needn't worry about it. I hope this info is correct.

No, that is actually NOT correct, as far as I know. Everyone needs the disc to park in that area of Marigot. You should be able to park in the lot along Galis Bay and take the shuttle though.

What rental company told you that?

No, not correct. Everyone needs the blue disc if you park in "blue parking" spots in Marigot. If you don't have one, just park in public lot or the lot in Galis Bay near the Sports Complex and take the shuttle bus.

When we picked up our car at AAA this afternoon they brought up the restrictions in Marigot, explained the time limits and gave us the parking disc. It does impact rental cars too!

Glad to hear that Triple A is now giving the disc with rentals.
