This one is not as grandiose as some of the previous reports for us, but we wanted to put in a good word on Birdville, SSBG and Sapphire. One may need to <CRTL><-> or <CRTL><+> to make the page fit your browser. SXM2016 Trip

Thanks for the report! We enjoyed Parrottville on our recent trip also. I actually have to do my report on that part of our trip yet. Hoping to get to that this weekend..

Thank you for the report! I enjoyed reading it! Looking forward to checking out Parrotville in December. One question - How is the pool at Sunset Bar and Grill going to be used? Can anyone go in? Will there be a fee? We saw the pool when we were there in April but it was not completed. Whole place looks awesome! If anybody has any insight that would be wonderful! Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the great report! Regarding OC, I am so happy someone is finally working on Villa #2. Also, glad to hear the WiFi has improved.

Thank you for the trip report.
On our first two visits to the island we stayed at the Caravanserai and there was a very similar looking pool over by Bliss where Reserve is now. It was considered one of the 3 pools listed for guests of the hotel. Similar vibe.

Not sure how the pool will be used...rather strange place except for the ambiance value.

I've eagerly been awaiting your report and was not disappointed. Lovely pictures. Sounds as though you really stayed "home" this year. Sorry I missed you and Linda this year.

Enjoyed reading about your trip and the photos were an added bonus--thank you. Our next trip is in 17 days (but who's counting). I think we'll put Parrottville on the list of things to do!

The pool in the trip report is the old Bliss pool with cosmetic work done on the edges. Same with the bar behind it.

Thanks in advance! Walked through SSBG two days ago and the pool was roped off with signs saying it was closed. Was just walking through to look at the changes so didn't ask any questions. Will try to find out more when we go later.

Just a note on "Parrotville". I too thought it was named such but was surprised when arrived and saw the sign was "Birdville". Most inhabitants are parrots. There are also quail and a few mice. The fauna is specific to nourish the particular bird species.

The sign on the front of the building says "Bird Park" in bright yellow letters. Underneath that sign, in large painted blue letters, is "Parotte Ville".

Huhm, OK, they must have changed the name, as I took pictures of the sign that definitely says Parrottville.. That was around June 3 or so.. Will have to look at my pictures for the date. I will be posting a report about our visit there, hopefully this weekend. Regardless, a lovely place to spend an hour or two.
