My parents are going to be joining us on charter and we need to find them a place to stay near the ferry in Red Hook for just one night. The plan is to have them fly into St. Thomas and take a cab to the Red Hook area to stay the night where they can get on one of the earliest ferries to St. John where we can pick them up in Cruz Bay. They are in their 70s and would prefer a place in Red Hook that is safe, clean and not too expensive where they can also grab dinner nearby. Any recommendations?

Any places IN Red Hook would be VRBO type accommodations, apartments within someone's home, etc. The closest condos would be Secret Harbour, Harbour Beach Villas, Sapphire Village. There are a few B&Bs in the area, but not in Red Hook.

Last Jan. I did a pick up like that. But we took a slip at American Yacht Harbor and my family met us by cab. Overnight at marina then off the next morning. Worked out very well with no dinghy rides required.

You could contact this unit in Red Hook, they state a 3 day minimum but are old charter boat owner/operators and if they can't accommodate you may have the best recommendations for you.

Maybe consider after they land - catch a cab/ferry to STJ. They can sleep in the next morning and there are plenty of places to eat in Cruz Bay.

Another possible option is get a water taxi to bring them to you and skip the hotel. Not sure if hotel room/cab/ferry would equal the water taxi, but just a thought.

You probably have already thought of these two options, but just throwing them out there.

We have several friends who stay at Two Sandals in Red Hook on their way to JVD. They all love it

Thanks Everyone for your suggestions! We decided to either have them get to St. John the same day and spend the night there or have them stay at Two Sandals in Red Hook.

While Two Sandals is close, it is not *in* Red Hook and not really within walking distance. They will need a ride to any restaurant.
