I apologize if this is a redundant question. Getting ready for BVI sail number 15 in December and have had a BVI VIP Gold card since the program was set up several years ago. The first trip, we were met at our plane, escorted to a private area at the airport with a few complimentary bottles of champagne while our bags cleared customs, and were then escorted to a taxi that already had our bags loaded for the Moorings.
Is the program still operational and worth the effort of filling out the forms and sending all of the passport photos in advance? I hope so - our guests were blown away on the previous trip I referred to above!

No

If you listen to Kevis, it's always "big plans", but nothing in the last 4 years. Would have liked to at least get my card, but a few years ago "the machine broke"

Yes, the meeting at the flight was awesome. Now it is reserved for people coming in on private jets, etc.

We were met in Oct. It was just my husband and I and the airport was pretty empty. We could have walked right through customs without the escort. But it was a nice gesture.

On our last 2 trips we were greeted and treated very well.

Last June we were greeted at Beef Island airport and was a fantastic experience, never touched our bags, taken right up to the "Diplomat" window, everybody said "welcome home" all 7 of us. Never touched our bags until we were at the Charter Base.

Then in November, we came in a St Thomas, again we were met by a VERY nice associate, taken into the private air conditioned club room by the baggage claim, they had a taxi waiting for us, we gave them our baggage tickets, never touched baggage again until after checking in at the ferry. There were 8 of us.

Great Service which I plan on using again this November.

Hmmm, typical island.

When we were there last month, we told them we were gold bvi-vip and asked to use the VIP departure lounge to the left after you go through security. we were told NO.

That lounge was never used for VIP card holders, just Very Important People! (Most likely on private jets). The VIP lounge talked of was on arrival and to the right of immigration. Sadly this has now bveen used for another purpose for several years. VIP card holders are greeted on arrival of the terminal building and helped through the fastest channel with a smile, also through Customs and a taxi arranged for you. A very pleasant and welcome experience after an incredibly long journey.

We are VIP members and we were treated on 3 visits to entry through the VIP lounge. It was a very welcome respite after a long trip. I think limiting its use to promote private entry makes no sense.

I have been welcomed there on several occasions also as a VIP card holder. The one on the right coming from the plane. They took care of all luggage, paperwork etc. while we had drinks in the lounge. It was great while it lasted.

Mike,
I'm interested in your comment regarding ST Thomas.
How did you designate the BVI VIP to arrival in STT?
We are flying into STT on Friday July 8, and we are Gold VIP for the BVI. Would like to take advantage of the same treatment.
Please let us know how you arranged that
Thanks!

Roger,

I filled out the form and sent it to Kevis. I did it about 1 month in advance and I always follow up with an additional email to Kevis.

On the form I indicated St Thomas and I needed a taxi to the ferry. Everything was arranged, even the cold drinks on the taxi.

Communication is the key. In fact I just checked, I had 6 emails to Kevis for our last trip. And then to follow up after the trip I email Kevis to thank him and his staff.
