Does anyone know if we just meet Alain at the airport to return the car? Forgot to ask and they are not answering my email. It's seems that that was the way it was done before but it was so long ago I'm not sure. Thanks for your help.

You must return the car to his site. No matter what time your flight, someone will be there. They have been there at 5:30 am in the past for us.

Thanks. We don't have a clue how to get there again. Would you happen to have directions?

Yes, in May, we returned the car to his office, at 6 AM. To get there, just go to Sunset Bar and Grill, turn left right before you go into Alegria, go about a 1/4 mile down, take the first left, following the signs for Beachside Villas. AAA is a short distance down on the left.

We rented from him in early May. Called the office about mid week and asked if someone could meet us at airport for drop car return. Soon as I pulled up in the departure lane there was a guy who asked if we were returning the car for AAA and I handed over the keys. In the past we have always returned to the office. Might depend on how busy they are. Great people to deal with.

For us, since we stay at Beachside Villas, it's on our way to the airport. But unless there is a big crowd at Sunset, it's only a couple of minutes from the airport anyway.

Normally I would have dropped at the office but since there were 5 of us in a van it was easier to ask and they said no problem. That road gets a little tight when you get cars parked on both sides and then meet oncoming traffic with a van.

Oh, you're braver than I am, even driving a van on SXM anyway! Give me a little car any day!

The only reason we have rented a van the last few times is there is 5 of us. Stayed in OBBR so we needed the van on the first day from the airport with luggage and stopping at the food store for some supplies. We used to travel around on previous trips but we stayed on the property for almost the whole trip this time so in the future back to the Corollas. Not worth additional cost. Might have been cheaper to get Wilfred Brooks and just rent a car for a few days.

Yes, I might have a tendency to just have him do airport pick up and drop off and then rent a small car for the other days. That might be cheaper than renting a van for the entire time..

At SSB&G making that left as Carol said is White Sands road. Clearly marked. Tight lil road but a short trip from the starting point. Yes, follow the signs to "Beachside villa's". Our home away from home! Hope you had a great time!! Nothing like beach gravity!!
Sand Gravity, got to love it!

Got home yesterday morning and wanted to thank you for the directions to Alain's. It was perfect and we had no trouble finding it, although I was a little surprised that Alain didn't bother to even respond to my email. Had a great 8 days with mostly great weather. Boy, have the roads changed in the past eight years, (and for the better). Thanks again.

Glad you had a good time. With regard to once you're on island, communicating by phone is the best way to go..
Can we perhaps hope to see a trip report soon?? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Smile.gif" alt="" />

I had a bit of trouble contacting of Alain via email.
He responded quickly to a text. I used +1 (721) 586-0890.
