Spent the day in the cave under RainBow Beach Resort . This cupecoy location is our favorite spot on the island. Talking to the timeshare lady at Sapphire , She told me not to go to Pic Paradise, Her reason is a gang has been robbing people up there. Seems like the gang has a spotter at the bottom and the spotter gives a heads up to the others who hid in the bushes. So stay away from Pic Paradise!

Pik Paradise has been that way since we've been coming to SXM. That's nothing new. I've never been up there. Eric and his brother and another friend went up there one time when I stayed home at the villa. I was nervous the whole time they were gone!

Gotta wonder why the police can't put a stop to that sort of thing.

Especially when the word spreads as it does. You don't want SXM to be Jamaica. The attraction has always been the ability to leave your resort or hotel. See multiple beaches, eat in various restaurants, see 2 similar but different cultures. 2 Countries in 1 short drive. They need to wake up or else face the loss of tremendous revenue.

Rick and Grace and all,
Unfortunately, we've been saying these same things - "they have to wake up or else face loss of tremendous revenue...." for a long time and the only apparent changes have been for the worse, and I would concede that this has become the situation in way too many places these days. But if we think we, as tourists, have it bad - what must it be like for the people who live there and know about the island crime situation and HAVE to deal with it everyday, unlike those of us who can decide to come or NOT?
So sad.....
Respectfully,

Loterie Farm is not a problem and is well worth exploring. We're talking about the drive to the very top of Pic Paradise. There have been issues there for fifteen years at the very least.
And I could be wrong about this but if you really want to go to the top to take in the view, I believe Loterie might even offer a guided hiking tour up if you're of an age and a mind to do that. The view from the top is spectacular but these days, to me, it's just not worth taking a chance.
Loterie Farm has a great restaurant along with a beautiful (pay to use) cabana and pool area. Just the setting alone is beautiful to see and experience and the food is very good, too.
