Has anyone recently purchased a men's watch? We have had good experiences with Carribbean gems for necklaces but I don't believe they have watches. Thinking of a Tissot.

I know that Shiva is an authorized dealer of Tissot!! Jae and the entire staff at Shiva's is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caribbean Gems does have watches and friends have purchased them there and I am wearing a Seiko that came from there also.

As already stated, Caribbean Gems carries a wide variety of different watches - Seiko and Citizen to name but two and if you're already a customer there you know they'll try to take good care of you. I don't know if they carry Tissot or not but I know many find the island prices on higher end watches to be about the same or perhaps a little less expensive at Costco or SAMs or some of the on-line websites.

I am a huge fan of Citizen watches.
Have 34 watches in total, I know its a lot, but have bought all from Splash Jewelers from Greg and Steven.
Best prices I have found on the island.
Of course we have been buying from Splash for 25 years.

Shop at Goldfinger for watches in St. Maarten and ask for Laki. He is almost always at the shop on Front Street and I have been stopping at his store for many years. A rolex is out of my budget but I love the selection of Tags.

Depending on the brand and expense, I would suggest Alpha jewelry. They are a small shop on the cruise ship end on front street. A family owned and run business. They have a very nice selection of middle range watches. We have had them work on my Rolex band and my wife's watch from time to time, but have made some "good" purchases of jewelry almost every year for the last 11 years with great satisfaction, fair prices and great service. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" />

Before your trip check out the prices at home on Jomashop.com. Their prices are very good and the company reliable. Then you can go and be an informed shopper and insure getting a fair price.

I purchased my Breitling at Little Switzerland. It was over 900 less than in the states and I didn't pay tax. Fully warranted in the US. This was maybe 5 years ago. Just know what your looking to buy if it's a more expensive brand

Depends on what kind of a watch you want to buy. We have purchased three watches from Art of Time--two Brietlings and a UBoat along with a Rolex from Goldfinger and two other watches from Shivas. So it all depends on your price range and what suits you.

If you want a really good watch; Patek Philippe or IWC for example, Jewels By Love in Marigot is a good place to look. Love Mahtani is an amazing expert in horology.
