Is it worth picking up a more expensive mooring from Peter Bay Resort ($65 vs $30)? We want to watch the USA Copa America game Thursday night. Any other suggestions on watching it? Thursday will be our first day aboard. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

There are many options on other islands but to address the Peter Island issue, we always pick up mooring/anchor in Great Harbor and on the beach there is a short path that leads from to the resort. Its not just the price at Sprat but it is an ugly harbor, small and full of bugs.

Believe it or not your not allowed to swim in Sprat Bay. We were there 3 weeks ago and walked over from Great Bay and saw the sign also construction is going on between the path and the resort so it didn't look accessible by foot so after seeing the no swimming sign and the construction I was glad we only got the $30.00 ball. There are only 4 balls available in Sprat bay and only 3 were occupied when we were there.

Unless you are there to specifically use the shore facilities at Peter Island Resort and cannot get a slip at Peter Island I would overnight someplace else. Sprat Bay is not a pretty place compared to the other BVI options. For our group Peter Island is usually a day stop. In some cases we will drop the girls off at the dock at Sprat Bay with a smaller part of the crew taking the boat around to Deadmans Bay. Some like making appointments at the SPA others enjoy the great lunch at Deadman's Bay Grill. We always call ahead and let Peter Island Resort know we are coming and get their guidance on our plans.

if sports is the issue, there a way better places to watch the game, without $20 hamburgers.

We watched the USA world cup game at BEYC two years ago. It was a GREAT place to watch. There was a great energy and lots of fans.

So, Thursday afternoon with checkout skipper from Roadtown. I was planning on Peter Island first and the typical CCW rotation ending at Norman before checkout. Ideas on a better first night stay? If I do moor in Great Harbour, can we go to the Drake's Channel Bar at the resort or is that only for guests?

Better sports bar with out the $20 hamburgers? Recommendations? (I thought those were standard in the islands?)
