We go in late June and love it. Our first trip was in February and the temps were such that we had to wear a light jacket at night in some places plus the water was cooler. But when we went in June we fell in love with everything. The water is warmer and crowds thinner. We did stay for the 4th of July one time and learned that Orient beach at that time was more full, so we plan on leaving before July if possible. The crowd changes as the 4th gets closer. As we aren't the party type it wasn't to our liking.
