I just searched and found some posts, but after reading I think I may have it.
The reason I'm asking is that we have been eating on the Dutch side when we have eaten out, and there has been the service charge. I get that, and then we added a little more in cash to our server just because we usually tip 20%.
But the other night, we ate on the French Side at Oasis, and by the way, the food was outstanding. Well, we got the bill and there was no SC. I forgot about the difference. There was not even a place to add a tip or anything about a tip. We ended up finding our server and gave him a tip, but then I now remember about the French side and their tipping etiquette.
So, SC on the Dutch side and pay extra if you want. That is up to the individual.
On the French side, there is no SC, and most likely if it is a good place, the server etc. is paid and your fee is already added into pricing etc. So, no tipping on the French side.
Am I correct? Thanks
