Just about ready to leave for this years trip and finally posted last years video. This one is stupid long. My first attempt, promise to get better and shorter. The 10 min. over speed drive to the Baths can be shorter. If you get vertigo I suggest fast forward. Leaving 5/30 and sailing with BVI Yacht Charters. Very excited 46 Bavaria. Enjoy, be gentle!http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/icons/cool.gif https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsQp393bAgg

Which Bavaria 46 are you going to be on from BVIYC? We are chartering "Xenia" in 2 weeks.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - beer in hand - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

Yes - that is the boat. You'll have to give me a news feed on it. Just curious if it really has all the bells and whistles it says it has. I have a feeling that most of the creature comforts are on a owners model not a charter model. Of course I could be wrong. Very excited about this boat.

I'm pretty excited to check it out. I have been told it's a propane grill so n o more fussing about with charcoal.

That's what I was told as well. I hope most if not all description is accurate. Would love a download when you get back or while you are there. I'm also wondering how the fuel will hold up? 55 gals seems light for a boat this size with a genset. Although it has been awhile since we had a boat with a genset so fuel has never been and issue. Good news is fuel in the BVI right now is about 95 cents a liter (not bad). Have you rented from BVIYC before. Everything I hear is that they are awesome. So far, my discussion to date would indicate that they are awesome. Been a Moorings/Sunsail and TMM charterer.

I'm more concerned about the smallish water tank. I chartered "Tootsie" with them last year. Good service, great location for provisioning. Had one minor issue with our dinghy but was taken care of. Apparently the aft cabin description was incorrect and that it cannot be adjusted to a king. Not sure if this is true or if they are just unaware of how to do it but I may have to rig something up to make it work.

Yea, I saw the water at 95 gallons. Fortunately, it is just me my wife and two boys, which seems we almost have to get them to shower at gun point. That was one of the things I wondered may be incorrect. I wondered if a boat going into charter that an extra tank might be added. Again, I know the pictures on BVIYC noted they are not pictures of the boat. So I wonder if some of the tech specs are off? Nevertheless, you are in the BVI's and there are plenty of places to get fuel and water if needed. It's just a pain sometimes if it is busy.

I'm sure we'll deal. We have a night scheduled at Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor as well as a night at Leverick so fuel and water shouldn't be a problem. Our only real concern is the aft cabin, but we'll figure something out. Maybe stack some of the other cushions in the middle to make out own king type bunk.

Also, just an idea but in the past when I did have other non-sailing/non-military couples on the boat. I would keep a few empty gallon water jugs and fill them up when I could and put them somewhere easy to get to in case the lack of water caught me off guard.
Because we all know, that there is no better warning to non-sailors who can't seem to grasp the concept of limited fresh water until it runs out!

I told my crew, when it starts raining, grab a bar of soap and get on deck

<img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" /> Chartering the 2016 Bavaria Cruiser 46 from Horizon in April, not sure how similar this is to yours but would still be interested in hearing some feedback!
