Ran into the owner of "Ethnik" yesterday playing with his kids on the beach....the "German Cowboy".
He said he has NO idea of if he will get his spot back or when it will be. No clue he said.

Sad to hear that. Philippe and Eve are great people. Ethnic is one of our favorite beach bars. Did he say where he has been working during construction?

Well, the great news about this is that Phillippe thinks he will be back in operation at some time.
They are great people.

Oh that's sad. Based on my last conversations with her I wouldn't be surprised but stil very, very sad.
Quite possibly we've eaten more lunches with Cheryl than at all other places on SXM combined. Or at least it's close.
For more years than I can remember my first and last lunch on the island has been Andy's Buffalo Margharita Shrimp.
I even buy outrageous mismatched. Beach outfits just to get a rise out of her. The pink hat I bought last year finally sent her over the top.
It's very sad for us, but I wish her all the best.

I was really wondering if she would bother to open the restaurant again. She and Roger are married now and have a new life together and keeping that restaurant going can be a real challenge and lots of hard work. If she doesn't open, we will definitely miss our times there, but we wish her the best in her new life.

Anybody remember the name of the restaurant in grand case that Luc,s wife co-owns? I think the other owner is Christian? Maybe we can ask her about orange fever & maybe dine there since orange fever isn't going to be open next week. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" />

La Villa is owned by Florence and Christophe. I don't know if she's Luc's wife, or if that's the restaurant you're talking about.

Not surprising at all. I'd heard that a while back. She has a new life and perhaps it just doesn't fit into her new plans. Wishing her tons of luck. She's a hard worker and deserves it.

As I have said before, Cheryl has not appeared to have her heart into it for several years...the breakup with Andy and his passing seemed to weigh. When I think about years ago when she was on top of her game and it was a "happy" place there has been no comparison.
No criticism intended...things change and we adapt. I really wish nothing but the best for her or any of us that move to a new stage of "life".

Sad to hear this! I too have Andy's Buffalo Shrimp several times during our 2 week visit. I wish Cheryl health and happiness! We sure will miss that place if this is true.
