Just found another webcam from Holland house. It's the first webcam I have seen that seems to be controlled by a person instead of being steady. http://www.portstmaartenwebcam.com/Now that would be cool to have such one at Maho beach, following the planes as they land.

BEST WEBCAM EVER!!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" /> I just spent 10 minutes watching it. This is very dangerous, as I could sit here and watch it all day!!

I'm not sure what you mean by being controlled by hand. I just see a live steady shot of the same angle. Nice fast streaming though.

It depends on when you're watching it. A while ago, the camera panned all the way both ways down Great Bay Beach, and then it panned all the way past the Sonesta Great Bay and then all the way over to the Divi, and up to Fort Amsterdam. That was SERIOUSLY cool!!

Thanks I'll have to watch it again. Now it's the cruise ship and tenders going back and forth.

Hi. I made this it's own thread. Really cool webcam, especially when they move around to different views! I was watching people get off the water tender a few minutes ago, watched a couple get stopped by what looked to be a timeshare salesman. Funny as crap, watching the woman snatch at her hubby's arm and say "let's go!!"..

I could be wrong, but I 'assumed' that there is no way to control this web cam.

Oh, we don't control it, they do. That makes sense. Now I wish I could save the site.

while watching the webcam, right click on the picture and select shortcut, then you are asked if you want to create a shortcut on your main page.

I must be thick in the head. When I right click the words as you said, create shortcut is not one of the options.I have tried other things when I right click but nothing is working yet.

Just click on add to favorites. On my desk top home page I just click on the star and it automatically goes to my favorites. Than I just have to click on that to open it up.

Look at Saba in the distance. I haven't seen it that clear in quite a long time.

It's been pointed at the beach for quite some time now. Wish they would move it around again some. I had my speakers muted before and just now discovered there is sound, although I'm not sure if it's actually coming from the beach, or it's background noise they have attached to the video??

The sound is pretty faint on my site even with my speakers all the way up. Leads me to believe it's coming from the beach or a beach bar somewhere.

OK, that's kind of what I thought. Guess one would find out for sure when one of the ships was leaving, blowing their horn.

And the camera is following it as it cruises of into the sunset. Neat.

Have you gone to the speaker at the top left of the streaming window and turned the camera volume up?

Went back to the site and after watching the ship disappear behind the big hill it panned back towards the beach. It would also pan forward for close ups too. Someone is controlling the camera live. Not sure how long they will keep this up as it take someone to do this. Even min wage will add up.

Perhaps its a subscription service that came with the camera technology where one person somewhere in the world is controlling a bunch of cams (spread anywhere in the world).

There is a speaker icon to the right of "viewers:?? " when the mouse pointer is over it , it will open up a volume slider.

Are you talking about the blue box toward the bottom or the greenish area toward the front and top?

It is on the life boat deck, right ahead of the last two boats, there is a sailboat mast in front of it now. It was changing before like it was a screen of some sort, just wondering

Wish there were more of them of that quality around the island. You could sit in your room in the morning and decide which side of the island has the best wind or sky conditions before you set out. Wish Orient's camera was that clear and fast.

And with a smart tv you could put it on the big screen, fix yourself some drinks, turn up the heat (if you happen to be in a cold climate) , and get that sand gravity feeling whenever you want.

Cool! There's a ship in again today! Will probably be watching a lot today! Can't imagine what it's going to look like come high season when there are six ships in!!
Interesting, though, the RCCL ships last week backed in and the ship today pulled in forward. Wonder why the difference?
