Hello St. Lucia. 7/19 Beth's luggage is not in St. Lucia so she goes about filling out the forms. We take a 1.5 hour taxi ride from the airport to Jade Mountain Resort. It was actually more of a guided tour than a taxi ride. Our driver narrated the entire ride. This is the town of Soufriere that is next to our resort. The good news is they had an issues with our room on Saturday so they upgraded us to a 'Moon Sancuary' upon our arrival on Sunday. Beth's luggage arrived Monday. Our accommodations for the next 5 days. The courtyard. Dinner that night. So for the 4-5 days we didn't do anything or go anywhere. We hung out in our room and went to the beach. We had to option to dine at any of the 5-6 restaurants at Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet, the sister resort. The food at all of the restaurants was absolutely incredible. It rivaled anything we have eaten anywhere including St. Maarten. Everything about this place is 5 stars plus. We even had our own butler. Super chill, super fun and super relaxing. Not cheap, but it was on our bucket list and well worth the experience. Our in-room infinity pool. It was a black sand beach and the water was crystal clear. I had to make the big switch from Caribe to Piton. I managed to do it without incident. The vegetation is very lush and beautiful there. We had to be careful about any food left out because the birds would help themselves. It’s hard for me to compare St. Lucia to St. Maarten. We love St. Maarten but we also really didn’t ‘experience’ St. Lucia. It’s definitely more scenic and picturesque than St. Maarten but it seems to be more of a resort island to me. I wouldn’t rent a car and drive around. For one they are on the opposite side of the road and it’s a big island with crazy, winding roads. It was an awesome experience, but we probably won’t be back anytime soon. St. Maarten on the other hand, we’ll see you next year. The trip home through Charlotte went without a hitch

St Maarten is home but some day I am going to stay at one of those rooms at Jade Mountain Resort. I think it is the most beautiful place in the Caribbean

We stayed at Anse Chastenet and those birds were in our tree house all the time. Great place. For some reason, we had a 3 bedroom. LOL Cheers irina

How lucky! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" /> Jade Mountain is one resort that I would love to visit. It's so gorgeous!! Cannot blame you for not leaving the hotel, I sure wouldn't, not even for a minute. Great report. Just like Liat to keep to their true form.

Found it. Love St. Lucia! It is tied with the BVI's for our favorite Caribbean island and we've been all over . We actually visited and Anse Chastenet and saw Jade resort. Looks lovely. But we stayed in Rodney Bay. We did rent a car and drove all over the island . Wasn't too bad except we got to Castries. Trying to navigate thru was difficult. We also saw a lot from a private cat charter.... Bateau Mygo. I definitely recommend renting a car, it's a great way to see all of the island and there's so much to explore including piton Falls and pigeon Island . We almost went back this year for anniversary, but we have a timeshare and Saint Maarten popped up first. We are giving it another go but I don't think it will compare to St. Lucia . Congratulations on your 10th anniversary , again! I will try to find a picture to post.

Glad to see a first hand report. This is on our bucket list as well. Was it hard walking up and down the hill or do they let you cheat and take elevators?? I have been to the beach there a few times, but the hotel looks very high up.
Toast.......to Life; White Bay...heaven on earth. Diane

Great pictures kdskis2! About walking and elevators: They have a shuttle service that takes you from the base of Jade Mountain to the beach or any of the restaurants located on the 2 properties. Once you are at Jade Mountain, there aren't any elevators for the guests to use. It's all stairs. The one restaurant at Jade Mountain is called The Club and that is located at the very top of the resort.

Thank you. Yours too. We'll be back. Have you been to.the VIs? Particularly St. John or VG, Tortola. It ranks w St. Lucia. I'm going to post Few more pics from around the island so you can see St.Lucia is worth exploring.
