I receive direct emails about tropical storms & hurricanes. Lots of good info, but frequent when the storms are active:
http://GoPBI.com/storm

May I suggest we post the longitude/latitude coordinates so folks know where the islands they are watching out for are located in relation to the track of the storm.

Debby

Accuweather.com is my favorite for home and tropical. When you zoom on your local radar the image is usually no older than 10 min. and most times less than that. That's important in tornado country.

On to the tropical----- One of the best features here is the streaming video, usually around a 6 minute forecast covering the Atlantic and Pacific. Joe Bastardi usually gives the forecast durring the week, he's very entertaining and does a good job of explaining all the factors that go into the forecast. New video daily, probably more when conditions merit. This guy LOVES what he does, you can tell. My wife hates him, she says it's like Rocky giving a weather forecast, "yo Adrian." I love him though. Check it out, you won't be sorry. Now let's see if the software censors his name. I agree with you, Dug. Accuweather.com is my favorite too. And as you say, Joe Bastardi is the one I love most telling me about the weather, so I don't agree with your wife. One can tell that Joe loves what he's doing. And even for me, not normaly english speaker because I live in the Netherlands, it is clearly understandable what he's talking about.
I always enter the page http://weather.yahoo.com/ and then go for Tropical Outlook.
As for now: enjoy the weather for it's the only weather you've got![Linked Image]

Hello:
Here is the best link that I have found. It downloads about 40MBs into your computor and then obtains information via the internet. www.hurricanesoftware.com

Best Hurricane Site I've found:
Crown Weather Services

Here's a local (to SXM) weather site:
Metorological Service of the Netherlands Antillies & Aruba

FYI this is Hurricane Prepardeness Week

Had not seen that one before, or the software Peconic recommended -- good stuff.

We are going to see Neil Diamond Tuesday night in Boston. All my wife cares about is that nothing gets in the way of that!!!

that's a great one Brian
I have been playing around with it.
Did you buy it or subscribe? How much is it to do that?

and here is another link that I use all the time.
It is the best weather forum site I have found.
http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/index.php
Most of the people who post there are either very well informed amateurs or very well informed professional mets.
They follow these storms like hawks.
check out the Talkin' Tropics forum and then the pro mets also post in the Tropical Analysis forum.
all very helpful. It's where I get most of my information.

Every year there seems to be more information available related to tropical weather. I use my Hurricane Pro app for most broad information during season, but I have really enjoyed learning from Crown Weather. I see that they now have a subscription option. Do any of you weather gurus have any opinions on this? I think I learned about the Crown Weather site from TTOLers.
