We will be on SXM next month and might be meeting up with some other friends who will be staying on the island. We are trying to decide where we will meet. On days when many cruise ships are in port, is there much of a difference in crowds between Orient and Simpson Bay?

Definitely Orient Beach is more crowded on cruise ship days.

What islandgem said. Unless there are issues with seaweed or something like that, Orient will almost always be more crowded than Simpson Bay Beach.

Orient and Sunset beach are probably the MOST crowded on cruise ship days...Simpson Bay Beach is NEVER crowded and a meet up at Karacter would be nice. I should add that this is the only part of the beach with a concentration of people..but...still cool
If it too crowded for you wander off towards the airport and you will have the beach to yourself...
