Please tell me what unit you are in. We are here now and it is worse than ever. If you want a beach towel you have to be downstairs at the crack of dawn. It is a crap shoot if you have hot water or air conditioning. Tonight, no baths towels - waiting for Fed Ex to deliver a crate of them. What a joke. Speaking of jokes, the TV is the biggest one. No stations. After 11 at night you get NBC for a while. Then the station changes to the Weather Channel in the middle of a show. Meanwhile, Verdier walks around like he can't speak Englih and he can. Can't imagine this place surviving . The maintenance fees are going somewhere else. Oh, I forgot about the elevators breaking. They are waiting for a part from Paris to fix one in building 3. Really??

So in order to surrender our unit we must contact the maintenance fees place in Miami?
My problem is I don't have the contact info. If I write a letter to notarize, what must it say?

We are in unit 225 for week 33.
Your whole experience sounds terrible. It's too bad what has happened there. :-(

Believe me, this is part of what my company does. Not hard to trace anyone back. You can look anyone up on the Internet an flow addresses back to birth. You don't need an ss # to ding credit report, you can ding any that seem pretty darn close and up to the consumer to correct. My company only does commercial collections an a/r insurance but we do trace

If they won't spend money to keep maintenance up, do you they will spend money to try and enforce contract payments?

So you don't care if you ding the wrong person and if you do it's up to them to prove you wrong and correct the injustice. My oh my. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" />

My company doesn't do consumers but many do and you're right. They don't care. It has happened to me. Just saying it is very easy for collection companies.

Hey Wendell, if they sell it they get money and walk away. Up to the collection company to get their money back. Just to be clear here. I don't do this, my company only does commercial collections when one company doesn't pay another, we don't go after individuals. I just happen to know how the industry works so sharing to try to help.

I have done both. Most Company's info is public record. Individuals is private. UNLESS they choose to put it on Facebook. Ha Ha

I wish it was private, I can find almost anyone doing a few simple web searches with nothing more than their name and one town they have lived in over their life time. Pretty scary stuff.

We also own at the Sapphire. Unlike Lil Deb we had friends who decided they didnt want their units anymore and just stopped paying the maintenance and never notified Sapphire that they wanted to turn in their units. They are now being contacted by a collection agency. Also we never had problems getting towels. You turn in the used ones at night and pick up new one in the morning.

Success!!! I sent an email a month ago that I pretty much just forwarded to every working email address I had at Sapphire. I got no response or phone call (not surprised) but today I received an email document stating that my request to cancel my contract has been processed! I am officially done with the headache of Sapphire Beach Club! What a relief! I am sad to lose my timeshare however I will purchase another.
