Let’s go back in time with the paper form and a pen……high tech for nothing……..if they want to know who has arrived or departed the island they could get manifest dumps from the airlines……

The CONCEPT might be OK, if the execution wasn't so awful. This is not rocket science, but these bozos who created the site make it seem so.

When you fly international into any US airport ICE already has, and has processed, the flight manifest. The manifest is not useful (to US or SXM) for much more than identifying information, and for logging entry/departure. It’s only meaningful if the ability to process, store, and report on the information exists.

The Sxmentry system appears to be a nice-to-have wish-list item. It’s a great concept - collect passenger information in advance, allow the passenger to fast-lane with a passport scan and a biometric check, and get them to Baggage Claim in just a few minutes. It’s not working that way.

If it was designed correctly, implemented correctly, and operated/maintained correctly, then it would be a top-tier if not world-class system. Sadly, it is not. It’s mostly an expensive PITA.

That would go with most things associated with the airport and rebuild since Irma.

Forms are no longer given out. There is a departure fee, but it is almost always built into your fare when you purchase your ticket.
