I have searched for “ribs” so I know there are many opinions. We are at the Horny Toad for a few more nights and enjoying sticking close to “home.” Where would we find the best ribs, either in Simpson Bay or Maho? Usually we go to Rosie’s, but not looking for a beach day, just ribs for lunch or dinner. Thanks!

Same here. If you don't mind the drive over the hill to where Carrefore is, Mark's has excellent ribs on their menu. Also Buccaneer Beach Bar are right up there too.

Palms ribs are very different from Rosies or beach ribs and much more expensive. I tried the drunken ribs once and wasn't my cup of tea.

I'm giving two thumbs up for Polos Hermanos on airport road at the corner of Sr. Patientia Rd (SAX car rental) for some outrageous ribs and wigs!! Everything is so good, great drinks to! Really lovely people!!! https://polloshermanossxm.com/

Laughing, i did not state "the best" but I see your point based on the question. Certainly my favorite in that area, and for that matter the only place I go for ribs near Simpson Bay.

Note. They are sauced, and i usually prefer dry rub but Greg does such a great job. Very time consuming process.

Cheers from the best!

We have picked up food to go at Pollo Hermanos and all was good, would not hesitate to go back. Did not know they did ribs, probably did not consider to look.

I miss the rib and chicken place by the grocery across from the car dealership area, name escapes me now. We used to stop in there for "take away", the name is on the tip of my tongue. Great potatoes as well. I sure hope I either remember the name or somebody states it so I can get that name search out of my head. Captains doesn't do it for me, haven't had Lee's in at least five years. Good to find new places. I have ribs and chicken at Dany's on Cupecoy more than any other meal on island, great deal and good, the setting is great as well.

We miss Ms B's on Dawn and Pedro's on Orient. We have always enjoyed Rosie's on Mullet, Friars Bay Beach Cafe also has some pretty good ribs. This is another food item you could spend a month or two and still not eat at every place that serves ribs. But the search would not be a life wasted!

I can't remember all the details, but supposedly they were keeping employees locked up as prisoners or something? Can't remember exactly. Also, the sanitation was apparently disgusting.

Yes, Lido. It was the Lido grocery store that actually had the issues, not the bbq which was run by locals, IF, a big IF, i remember correctly.

Correct. I believe they kept some locked in a storage/cargo container.

Alex was the cook at Lido, and went on to be the cook at Marty's restaurant in Simpson Bay.

Thanks everyone. We decided to have ribs at lunchtime, so The Palms was not an option. We went to Lee’s and they were okay, but not very meaty. Next time, it will be The Palms (where we ate our first night, but I was not yet wanting ribs). Our best meals were at Roma, Tortuga Maho (the view and live music were great, too), and D’s Beach Bar. I guess we like staying in Simpson Bay and eating in Maho.

All this hype about Rosies. Last time I was there this last May it was horrible. Two in our party had the ribs, one had chicken and I had the burger if you could call it that. We all decided it was a big mistake to get food there. Never again for us.

Oh, you're looking for delicious ribs in that area. Well, I know a few really good places.
Besides Rosie's that you usually go to, you can give Chesterfields a try. Their ribs are really flavorful, the meat is tender, and the sauce is especially wonderful. Whether you have them for lunch or dinner, it's quite satisfying.

I have had decent ribs and some not so decent at Rosie's. The burgers appear to be somewhat low quality frozen that never really looked good to me. I am not a hot dog person, but they do have a decent jumbo hot dog that tastes rather good on the beach.

Curious as to why you'd suggest Chesterfield's, as it's nowhere near Simpson Bay.

IMO, that person is copy-pasting from ChatGPT or some other AI platform. Look at their reply under the Hilton Royal Palm thread. Just too much info there for me to believe that somebody put in the time to collect and format all that data.

The way all of their posts are worded seem.... odd to me. I mean, who says, "it's quite satisfying?"

Todd - In my early Keto days, I ordered Greg's ribs without the sauce to avoid the sugar. I went back to having the sauce next time around.
