Hi All,
I am heading to sxm on March 1. One thing we've never done on our various trips is see a sunrise! We stay in cupecoy or Maho, so I am very familiar with the sunsets. Where is a good place to drive to and see a fabulous sunrise?
Looking forward to the suggestions.
Many thanks,
Beth

You actually can see a very nice sun rise from the Towers Resort in Maho if staying close by.I was surprised when we stayed there a few years ago.

With the cold front coming in I'd take any warm sunrise. Enjoy your trip

I would think the sunrise view would be spectacular on the road as you come from Marigot towards Orient and come over that curving hill and first see the whole sea/Orient area...or, Orient itself for a ground level view.

I prefer sunsets...same view in reverse and you don't have to get up as early

Not that it helps you much, but I have seen two spectacular sunrises as our cruise ship pulled into SXM. Worth the proce of the balcony suite just for that view.

We are also sunrise people! Is there a tall perch to watch from? even a short hiking trail?

Agreed! That is beautiful. I am usually sleepy, but this year I will see one of these! Thank you again!

I don't think you will be able to see a sunrise per se at NBBC, as I think you will be facing west, so you should be able to see sunsets. Which, of course, I much prefer sunsets, myself!

We get beautiful sunrises every trip from our seventh floor balcony at the Towers. One thing though that I've noticed is the skies start to lighten usually around 5 - 5:30 but where I am situated, the actual sun usually breaks through the clouds and over the hills right around 6 ish and it can be absolutely gorgeous or a total non-event and really depends on the day and your luck. But if you do get lucky, OMG are they gorgeous!

There are sunrises?

Pat, would they be anything like this?!

If hubby didn't take pictures for me, I wouldn't see them.

OMGoodness, Leona. Those are beautiful and just a small part of why I don't mind being an early riser, particularly when in St. Maarten. We share a love of that view, for sure......TY for sharing them....... But now it's gonna' be that much harder to wait until April!
