Nope! Never heard a peep but I’m inclined to be pretty tolerant. One man’s pleasure can be another’s poison, right?
Actually, some evenings sitting out on our porch a soft musical background to accompany the waves might not be a bad thing as long as it wasn’t too loud or too thumping of the base sounds. When we would get that at the Towers we’d just go indoors and close the sliders. 😉😉

We have stayed at Mary Boon before and never had any noise issues, pretty thick concrete walls help I'm sure. However Karakter sometime has that techno night on some Sundays but normally shuts off by 11ish. Their crowd seems to be dwindling anyhow as we walk by often. Hopefully the BSV area stays as noise and commercial free as possible.
Yes, we went last night at 5,pm. HH was 5 to 7 and a good guitar player from 5 to 8pm. I think we left about 7:30 back to BSV. There were about 35 customers. We ran into Tanja Pust and Annette and Gianni from the old Bavaria which was a real treat!
I have also heard music at night when staying at Beachside Villas often until after midnight. If they have music at the new bar next door, it will definitely be heard there.
We'll be there in 26 days and a wake up. I'll keep everyone posted!! What does make me furious is the ridiculously loud techno music coming from either The Boone or Karacters!! ALL EFFEN DAY and night on a Sunday!!
The only music so far at the Dinghy beach bar (Friday night) would definitly not be a problem for anyone.
Last night (Saturday) we sat on the back porch (BSV #13) till about midnight. There was a low level booming but you really had to listen hard to even hear it over the sounds of the surf. Seemed like it was coming from down towards Simpson Bay. It could have been from No Place Speicial (Next door to the St Maarten Yacht Club) since that seems to be the late night go to for the young crowd. Obviously nothing could be heard inside with the doors closed.
On the Dinghy food subject, as we mentioned, we have had the jerk chicken which was wonderful. Friday night we had a happy hour fried sampler platter ($22)with conch fritters, shrimp, salsa 7 Chips and wings. It was decent but fried food is what it is. I think the mixed drinks (Bacardi, Stoli, etc) were $5 at happy hour.
All in all the Dingjy is a very nice place for us. The staff remembers our names each time we show up and we've only been there three times.

On the noise problems we all know pretty much that the Simpson Bay Noise pollution is mainly from ROXY, Somewhere Special and sometime Karakter. We stay at BSV, Beacon Hill and the Boon and can say The Boon remember is a 30 to 40 room hotel first and normally only have a DJ on Sundays and only until about 6pm. We don't normally hear anything at the Boon but Karakter does have the stupid techno on Sundays at times. I don't see it as feeding "the trolls" as long as it's reliable info plus over and over you read about noise issues in these areas. To me it's just rude and bad business if you look next door and see condos and homes as in Beacon Hill or BSV with people trying to sleep to play loud anything at all. IF these places cant' fill their pockets with enough CASH during the day and be a good be a good neighbor then just don't support them. Finally the Beacon Hill people are starting to push back against these developers over building and Beach Bars that disturb the peace. I can say that for sure Friday there was sort of loud noise from I am assuming the new dingy bar until 10 or 11pm. At least not the BOOM BOOM BOOM type. Fine, but if you know it's loud, late and distracting for people to sleep just don't do it. I understand that the lady landlord for the dingy bar lives next door is having issues and trying to keep the noise limited and other things. It start with one night and then before you know it it's everynight. It seems to be popular opinion these places can be just to load at times. Everyone needs to play by the same rules.
I was merely stating that I did hear music while staying at Beachside and others have stated this as well. It never really bothers me as I am up much later than the music. Sorry, I know nothing about trolls.
My gosh. What's with the fixation on the loud music from this place that may or not exist. Time to close this one that I originally posted. Enough already.
yes this post has gotten redundant and now again. I only vacation in the area and don't live there full time but the fixation maybe the concern more from the full time residents that the dingy bar will become like the past now out of business bar over ran with day time cruise ship people and loud music until late. It can get loud and nobody wants another ROXY just next door to BSV or Beacon Hill. I never thought it was that great of location since not a lot of breeze in that corner and ofter more seaweed etc than other places but lots of sand is nice. Pretty sure the residents will keep being very vocal if it gets out of control and disrupts the neighborhood. It's not that hard to turn the volume down so I don't see any problems. Lets see.
