I really like this site. Haven't been here for a while as i don't like the pain of the good memories and not being able to do it again. For me the COVID is secondary the reaction to the disease is what confuses me. Some states and countries are for the most part open. But the problem is getting there. Just last night Frontier completely changed our year long reservations making our trip impossible. We could go on another airline but that can change too. Plan B go to Florida. Now they are talking about limiting air service due to the new strain basically quarantining the whole state to air travel. All i want is to go sailing, have some pain killers and kick back.

Stevelon ~ can you please explain a little more regarding the limiting of air travel service? Is this just FL or Frontier? Any additional details or link to where you saw this is appreciated.

Here you go. It is a consideration now but not sure about the future. Good luck. Bagsarepacked are you enjoying our winter? Been under 20 degrees for days https://www.miamiherald.com/news/coronavirus/article249154715.html . Looks like some movement on air travel coming into the us, Now if you can prove you survived covid you get a 90 day pass on the form. Funny nothing on the vaccine https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/pdf/...enbwrhW3Q-czp8HkbYDz51S2k-Xli5z3ff2Q2pGw The limit Frontier had was lack of passengers i think. Many of the routes are not profitable anymore. Good luck in your future travels.

Steve...I think you can safely count on Gov. DeSantis to stand against any restrictions or lockdown in Florida. I live on the Gulf Coast and we are PACKED with tourists at the moment with no letup in sight.

We all know the saying ' Life's a beach until the tide comes in." Either one has the resources to escape the tide, or one has the mindset to live as well as possible when they can't escape the tide. Very fortunate folks will have both. The rest of us will have to do the best we can.

I did see that The Premier did say he would be taking the vaccine himself shortly. There had been a lot of comments concerning him not getting it with the Health Minister. Hopefully they will acquire more vaccine and the population will take it in sufficient numbers they will drop the quarantine. They cannot hope to have the tourist income they need with a quarantine in place this summer for people who have been vaccinated. Few people will spend four days in quarantine and a second test and wait for results if they have been vaccinated. There will be too many other venues. Though we usually stay several weeks, we also have family and friends visit part of the time and I would not expect them to spend 4 days locked up when only staying a week or so. So we wait.

If they open up transportation to from st. Thomas I don’t see the efficacy of the quarantine, but they will do what they will do. A friend who runs a snorkel business and rib rental among other things doesn’t believe they will have any meaningful business until 22. I hope he’s wrong but he’s close to the action.

They are vaccinating medical people, including private, at Peebles. I think they said they had done 100. Too lazy to find the article, but I believe I read they hope to have enough vaccine for everyone by the end of the year. Of course not everyone will choose to be vaccinated, and there are the unknowns about the vaccines' efficacy against the newer strains.

As much as we need to check our house after a year empty, I'm not optimistic. This ice storm has shut down vaccinations here, further delaying an already inept rollout. And no luck convincing our relatives to go use our house either!
