No Mike, not in Europe. This is a US location so I guess this isn't really fair to you guys from across the pond although some may have visited including one Englishman during the action.
Hint, the trees on the far ridge are about 1 mile away. Approximately 12,500 men tried to cross this space while 150 cannons and thousands of rifles fired on them from that ridge. Only a handful made it, 6000 never returned to the starting point.

Yes, this is the actual fields that these men were ordered to cross. The first photo was from the starting point. Their objective was the trees on the ridge. The attack was hampered by fences and gullies. Whether their cause was just or not, one cannot doubt the courage it took for those men to make this charge knowing full well they had little chance to make it and a great chance to die violently, as many did.
If I win again I promise to try and find photos more worldly so all have a chance.

Don't worry about that Fran. I'm taking part in this in the hope of discovering new places. I've already learnt of Cinque Terre in Italy that I never knew about despite having been very close to it in the past.
There certainly have been a bunch of really interesting pictures posted! The only problem at this point is that most of us, like me, have basically run out of pictures. Perhaps we need to think about a new series. Something like, here's my favorite place in the world and here's why? Thoughts?
So to be fair I see that bridge every day. At work we put up travel cams from all over the world since we are not going anywhere. That bridge is one of them.
So location on this one.
As everyone has said running out of pictures someone will know this one quickly.
Ellen, have a nice trip and I don't envy anyone travelling now. As far as this game goes, I really enjoy it and don't know we could have something similar without pictures. I'll keep scrounging along for pics as long as I can, but TomB will be back soon and he probably can post for a long time and just let us guess. Anyway, here goes one I dredged up.
I've got loads more photos now I'm back in the UK with my archive to hand. Most will be hard to identify but I'm happy to keep posting while people are interested.
Mike, not Cape Cod but right country. I'm sure you have lots of photos so when some of us are out, you and Tom can keep this going. It's a fun way to "travel" in these times.
