Unfortunately that's probably true. But, for those of us wise enough to trust the science we won't have to worry about getting this disease. We'll likely have to keep wearing face coverings for a good portion on 2021, but that's a minor inconvenience when compared to getting a pulmonary disease. And, hopefully, proof of vaccination (a certificate or something) will be more than enough when it comes to traveling abroad and eliminate the need for COVID testing or at least reduce it significantly. The question that will still linger, however is how long will immunity to the virus last? This is just a guess (because at this time no one really knows), but within two weeks after the second vaccine injection I'm thinking immunity will last for possibly nine months or longer. If that's the case, a booster shot may be likely the following year.

If I have to get a COVID vaccination annually, like I do now for the flu, that's not a problem for me. Hell, I'd get it every month if it meant that life could return to normal.

Shoot we have already had the corona vaccine, and here is how we did it. Walked into our local CVS, went directly to the beer cooler, picked up a six pack of corona, while waiting our turn, we both had 2 beers apiece, our names called and cracked our last two. Set down, gave the nice girl our info, we had her dip the shots into the beer (corona of course) and then she administered them! She laughed and politely said “y’all are all cured from the corona virus, have a great day”! So folks, that’s how you do it, hear endth the lesson.

Just a little on the light side, you have to laugh! Everyone be safe, and go buy some corona beer, if not do it for me, do it for your neighbor!

Did you not read my entire post, please re-read it. It was meant to be on the lighter side of things.

Yes I did. People like me that have been affected by this fail to see your humor. This is not a joking matter with what's going on in this world.

This doesn’t even garner a response, it was just light humor. Let’s get back on topic. I’m glad that there is a vaccine, or one or two, that is out there. But the probability of the general population receiving it before this time next year......( and your thoughts go here). I realize this winter will be tough with COVID-19, and truly hope everyone the best!

Pretty encouraging results. 94.5 is so much higher than the flu vaccine but we get the flu vaccine yearly.
Thank goodness we have dodged the flu for years.

Let’s all see the light streaming in from the Covid tunnel.
Perhaps we can all get back to our favorite Island.

carib cheers to better days ahead!

It is 10 million people that are not going to spread to others, and then another 10 million will get it when available and so on. Operation Warp Speed is incredible, Government and private business work together is huge. This is all beyond anything that has ever happened before, for us US citizens, it is something to be proud of.

I prefer the Isle seat

The way I understand it the Pfizer one will require two doses, Moderna only one. It will be so encouraging to see the numbers drop as the vaccine is widely disbursed. Other countries also coming up with their own vaccines, so hopefully the world's numbers will drop significantly in 2021.

Moderna is also a 2 shot but doesn't have to be kept and transported at -94F.

We were/are extremely lucky to have the present occupant in the White House. I don't think anybody else could have facilitated this.

Possibly time to end this thread. Some of the above posters obviously live in an alternate universe. BTW, just how many people in the United States have perished from COVID-19 disease?
