you have moved further away.

My son was born here and it moves UK public holidays around to suit this festival

Based on one clue, it seems Shetland Island folks may not consider themselves part of Scotland - at least sometimes.

They truly don't Fred I was shocked and shunned when I wore my Kilt up there for Up HellyA in Lerwick, Shetland. They also move UK Public holidays around so they can hold the festival on a Tuesday & Wednesday recovery day.

No worries my friend. I have had plenty of pics to post. I was just teasing you smile I figured that is what happened

We've already had this location in an earlier competition Fred sorry The wonderful Isles des Saintes, Guadeloupe. Can't see Jeannius there. Have you been more than once?

Tom Saint-Francois is way in the background in this pic. Your pic reminds me of how calm the water was one night for us, no wind and unfortunately we didn't have gen a/c. I would give anything to be sweating in this bay today!

Mike,
I didn't get in on the beginning so I missed it along with St. Helena and even my own hometown. I was on Skyelark on this trip which is the blue monohull in the right center and in addition to Jeannius, I've been there with Cap'n Rick on Sophisticated Lady.

Tom,
You were bypassed earlier, so go ahead and post a picture while I go back and see what has been used previously.

I realised afterwards that it must have been much later than our trip as the mooring balls are a more recent enhancement.

You'll recognise the person in the next photo if not the location...

It is a volcano as Ellen guessed. Not Canary Islands, Mt Etna. It is an island. I know I have a suitable clue photo somewhere but that'll have to keep for tomorrow,

Here's a notice that was on the board at the custom house when we cleared in. Should help narrow down the location...

The volcano is continually erupting at a low level and they will take you right up on to the rim. There was a more violent eruption about 20 years ago which resulted in the fresh water lake in the island centre emptying into the sea. The next photo is the former lake bed covered in ash...

It is amazing Ellen

Diane... Tonga was a good guess. In fact, when I was searching for photos, I went to our Tonga folder first of all as I was convinced it was Tonga, not Vanuatu duh

Hi Diane... Yes, the part we enjoyed the most was the Marquesas and the next island group west, the Tuamotu Archipelago. We would have enjoyed Fiji, Tonga and Vanuatu far more but we had loads of boat problems around there. The electrical part of the generator was repaired in Fiji but they made a complete mess of it and while we were on the way to Tonga and Vanuatu, the crankshaft broke on the generator engine, presumably as a result of the electric bit being badly reinstalled. So we were in the tropics in very hot and humid conditions with no generator, and therefore no air-conditioning, until we got to Australia. So we didn't enjoy that part of the trip as much we would have if all had been well with the boat.
