Old Gasworks House in Hrensko
Bohemian Switzerland National Park

Definitely off the beaten path!
Love to hear what took you there!

You are correct Tom!

My thumb , it took me everywhere from 85-2004 it was only once I arrived in the BVI that I settled and stopped travelling, well started using a suitcase instead of my rucksack

Wow sleepychef - that must have been quiet a journey

Well did you ever use your thumb to get here smile

Where are these cars going... Why was I stupid enough to follow them.

Tom--I sort of remember a trip report by you about driving over a dry lake bed, or something similar. I'm too lazy to go look for it now though.

Tom--I don't have any pictures here at home now anyway, so even if I guessed, I couldn't post a picture until Monday.. ...probably... I can't believe it came in ONE DAY, but my slide converter thing came in already, so I guess maybe we will try to play with it this weekend..

EllenS - You are very close to where the picture was taken, but I think you can get closer...

BTW one of my personal favorite shots I have taken is of the lighthouse on Campobello Island

So EllenS has brought you very close to the location.
Ironically, the owner could not ride a train to his private getaway

Beerman you are correct! EllenS was soooooooooooo close.

Indeed it is Ministers Island just off the shore near St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada. It was a getaway for Sir William Cornelius Van Horne, KCMG. Who was American-born who built Canadian trans-continental railway. The island is only reachable twice a day for a short period depending on the tides of the Bay Fundy.

Here is a link to our blog Northern Adventure that Carol and Beerman mentioned.

You are up Beerman.... Sorry EllenS frown

Carol thank you - it was a great trip

As a MAJOR JB fan I will let this on slip by... for awhile.

We also had amazing blue skies when we were there. Don’t have many pictures with me, but this one shows the bright skies we had.

Wow. I wasn't sure. The picture was not quite clear enough to tell if that was the palm trees and mansion on the top. I am kind of surprised that I beat all of the sailors on here. Maybe they spend too much time in the BVI. Little St James, just off of St Thomas.

Ok, here is my picture.

Winner!
Passo del Stelvio on the Italian/Switzerland border. The 2nd highest pass road in the Alps. I attached a couple of pictures from the same day on the other side of the pass and at the top of the pass. Those pictures were only take about 15 minutes before the sunny, beautiful day pictures on the other side of the pass.

Jeannius, you are up.

Ellen we walked into Lauterbrunnen with backpacks on and NO reservation. Lucked out and found a room at the Hotel Oberland, they actually closed for the season the day we checked out! Where did you stay when you were there? We do want to go back, perhaps stay in Murren next time? we hiked down from Murren...

We stayed in Murren. And loved it. Did a bunch of hiking up there. The name of the hotel escapes me right now but you felt like you were hanging over the valley. The day we were leaving the clouds came in and we were in it. We were there October 2016. Loved Switzerland. Those cows and their bells. It was like a symphony.

I have never seen a solar chart like that before, but now I have to have one for my patio. I don’t know where it was but I am googling the charts now. So no guess from me,
