Prior to TS boom SXM was a destination for many and I'm sure it will continue to be so. I worry that France will rely and put obstacles in the way of rebuilding the French side. And I worry that another hurricane will destroy the Dutch side and cause problems with restoration if other islands get affected. The fact that Club O hasn't been restored and it looks like never will be concerns me.
We came to SXM before TS and we still try to visit at least once yearly. I hope many more people do too.

David...instead of giving it back...list it with the homeowners page . Richard Marx does a great job. Might as well try to get a grand or two for it. nothing to lose.

No. Didn't imply that. Guess I should had included "original " in that.

It might be worth it to kick the can down the road a little longer, and try and sell it after we come home from this SXM trip in the fall. The thought of throwing another almost 900 bucks down a rabbit hole this winter, 2020, is not that appealing, though. By the way, I just saw a new thread in the forum called "Tropical Wave moving off Africa." This is a big part of why we want out. It is an absolutely unnecessary stress every October to be worrying about a storm either ruining a trip before we even arrive or during the trip. It makes the most sense to be able to plan a trip in the springtime, when you have the benefit of hindsight, and are able to see how any Caribbean island has fared the prior autumn. This way you are able to plan accordingly.

Rather than just giving it back, try to negotiate a "trade-in" and part of a purchase price for a week in the winter or spring when you want to be there - unless you just want out of a time-share contract totally.
