If you snorkel off of N's beach out to the reef just 200yds from the beach you will see a pretty reef. Also when N's boat was running they would take you down to a reef towards Falmouth also a beautiful reef.

We spoke with Freddy (GM) over the weekend and he told us that no transaction was done. Still operating under Frank R. That is why we are returning.

We have been to Jamaica numerous times on Cruises, but mostly to Montego Bay. Once we anchored in Ocho Rios, and had to be tendered ashore. We were dropped off in a high-fenced area, and told that we could walk to a shopping center a block away. As we exited the security fenced area, there were Police/Military on every corner providing a safety zone for us to walk to the shopping center. We felt secure but was wondering if that show of force was really necessary. We were told that no tourists even go to Kingston due to the high crime. What type of Security does N-Resort provide to allow walking on a two mile beach area? It seems this would be a very vulnerable situation for someone to "lie in wait" for a victim. N-resort does sound like a viable option to the Club O vacation. Airfare should be cheaper than flying to SXM also.

We walked that section of beach twice during our visit, and security was on my mind but we never felt "exposed". About halfway down the beach there is a Royal Caribbean owned beach that is used for their cruisers, and although there were no cruisers on the beach there was a couple of security guards that didn't care at all that we strolled by nude. I kept an eye on them and noticed they didn't even look twice as we walked by. I must admit I wondered how I would do if I have to defend me or my wife in the buff, but nothing even remotely made me get past the wonder phase. To answer your question, N doesn't provide any security beyond their property line. Most of the walk is on a not very picturesque beach, and I'm assuming that even the dumbest criminals would figure out you don't have any cash on you... We did walk by a couple of Jamaicans that were walking the other direction up on a trail off the beach, they seemed completely unfazed. The key is to go at low tide, which may or may not be an ideal time during your visit. At high tide, some of the walk will be through, over and around brush and debris.

Just curious - for your two mile walk - you were heading west away from N Resort - ? Do you know the name of the beach on which you saw Royal Caribbean people?

The beach is the Red Stripe beach. When N Resort first open it did not exist but Royal C opened the beach to their customers only. No cruise ship = No people. Either way just bring a wrap around and cover yourself when you feel needed. The walk is great and the locals don't bother with you. N resort is a great resort for us. We like to relax and stay at the resort all the time we are there but we have been to Falmouth to visit 3times and trust me it is very safe. If you want to go out of the resort just tell Freddie and he will send a member of the staff with you, seen it happen many times for other guest. Give N a try you will love it.

We've been to N twice and walked the beach both times, once at night. I would not be at all concerned about it. It's not a populated area to start with. The beach you can walk is part of a peninsula with the Falmouth bay on the other side. The area is not populated. Unless a cruise ship was in, we only saw a guard at Red Stripe Beach and nobody else. When a cruise ship is in the area is much busier and security is about.
We were not really that concerned. It was more obvious than normal that we didn't have anything valuable on us, so I doubt anyone would bother us. We've also heard that the locals are pretty particular about not messing with the tourists in that area, since that's pretty much the main source of income, though that may just be rumor. Had someone been accosted, I'm sure it would have make Trip Advisor by now.

It has been reported that they are closing Aug 4 to Oct 4 due to low season and hurricane season, but they are opening back after that. It's also been reported that some dates next winter are almost sold out, so maybe they are picking up a bit.
We've been hearing that "Couple from Texas" story for a while, now. When we were there in May, the staff denied the story. Getting financing for anything has to be really hard right now, but getting it to buy a resort in Jamaica is likely next to impossible.

We are headed to N next month. We really like this resort. We walked the beach twice a day last time and felt very safe. Does anyone have a recommendation for a car service to take us from the airport to N?

Unless something has changed, N provides transportation. You go to the Jamaica Tours Limited desk and they take you there. It's not a long drive, though the wait for the bus to fill can be longer. You'll be the first dropped off.

Reminds me of when we visited N, we took that shuttle from the airport. Our busmates were very loud and obnoxious, talking about how much they were going to party when they got to their resort and all the ridiculous things they were going to do. When we pulled up to the front door of N, there were a few nude couples standing around the check-in desk in view of the bus. The bus got REALLY quiet as I'm sure the boisterous ones were shocked that the middle-aged conservative looking silent couple got off the bus and joined in the fun at N. A fun memory.

We had the " pleasure" of being on the shuttle with a couple of exuberant families. The children's " how much longer" was echoed, even louder, by the parents, for all of at least 30 minutes. When we pulled up to N, the questions, " where are we " were answered with " an adult only resort". One of the mums said to us, "I guess you are glad to get rid of us", so rather than saying, " you bet" we just smiled ( thinking naked in 5) and said, " you are clearly very excited about your vacation." We did not refuse the immediate rum punch.
