There is nothing like landing in SXM. We were there for a week. The weather was gorgeous. We stayed at el Zafiro. Ed and Nicole, who own this beautiful boutique hotel, are wonderful hosts. Their staff is also extremely attentive and efficient. Food was great! This location is absolutely breathtaking, relaxing and perfect for us. Looking forward to returning in May or June. Thank you to Lesley as well. We appreciate his extremely easy car rental service. Simply...WE LOVE ST. MAARTEN.

Yes, the weather has been gorgeous. And El Zafiro has a nice relaxed ambience to the place. I go there every day. The staff are friendly and efficient. I think the hotel would be a very nice place to stay. You are right on a beautiful beach. Get up in the morning and walk about 20 steps to have breakfast on the beach.

MotownTim....ahhhhh....just dreaming about going to el Zafiro everyday. You are so lucky! Do you live there? Also, thank you to all for the nice comments. Sometimes I'm afraid to write. I don't want to irritate anyone.

Not Tim, but please don't hesitate to be a part of the discussion. We all have thoughts and opinions and they're all a part of what makes this such a great place to play.

I share your love of both SXM and El Zafiro and welcome you to 'the family'...... because most of the time we are like a family you know. Sometimes we agree and sometimes not and sometimes we squabble just like families often do, but in the end the good will of most everyone here abounds. So once again, thanks for sharing your thoughts and please feel free to keep them coming.

Respectfully,

No, don't live here. Just come down a lot when the opportunity arises. I'm at El Zafiro now. It's full which is good news.

How many total rooms do they have?

They have 4 so far. There are beautiful pictures on their website elzafirosxm.com They are working on 4 more on 2nd floor and their lobby! A couple of the ones upstairs will have to possibility of 2 bedrooms I think. Actually, on their website it names and describes all of the rooms. They have Aquamarine, Pearl, Ruby, and Turquoise already open. They are now open for all meals and the food is wonderful. We always drive all over the island, but it is so wonderful there that you really would not even have to leave. Our opinion of course. When we were there last week, they were quite busy! It was wonderful to see! Congratulations to Ed and Nicole!!! They work so hard and the vision for their boutique hotel is moving right along!

Did Jessica sell the property? Is she still living next door or did she sell her house too?

Thanks

As far as I know, Jessica still owns the property. It is just rented out.
