It’s Thursday April 3 and we are one week in, two more to go.

Non stop from Toronto, less than 30 minutes thru the airport. Wilfred Brooks was waiting, nice to catch up. Off to our unit in Orient, just behind Kontiki watersports – the two pool complex. Shop n Drop was waiting for us – All good.

Went to On Dirait le Sud in the village for some cold meats, antipasto and a serving of Mushroom lasagna for a light dinner – love that place.

Lunched at Aloha the next day. Tartine De Gascogne – duck confit etc and a couscous seafood dish – pretty sure the stock was made from lobster shells – both delish – lovely view. Chairs no charge if you eat there – so we ate there.

AAA dropped our car at Yellow Sub a few days into our trip – love that service, they pick it up a few days before we leave. Not interested in driving on arrival or departure days.

After that, lunch at Chez Leandras, another day Grand Case lolo – Elvis’s place, don’t know the resto name! Both alwaya good.
In Marigot ate at Kat tootoo Korner – run by Wilfred’s wife Kat. Lovely lunch, pics below. Chicken in a coconut sauce and chicken in a light curry sauce, both excellent. It’s located in the container area of restaurants – great food and great value plus a lovely Cuban music track playing in the background – suggest you try it.

While in Marigot stopped at Spicy l for nutmeg and cinnamon sticks. At the public washrooms, there is an alley at the south end where the washrooms are located, down the ally, across the street, Milo is on your left. Some advice, point but don’t serve yourself, Milo will pick out what you want! The paper bag has her name and a smiley face hand drawn. Nice big nutmegs.

Sébastien Quillere Pâtisserie – tracked it down in the Mount Vernon plaza where Leader price is – our grandson has the same name. Fabulous, do not miss this place, some pics attached. The mango is a sponge base, lightly soaked in syrup, mango mouse on top, all in a hard thin sugar shell, beautifully decorated – great balance not too sweet - wow! The choco was a choco mouse with meringue toping.

In the village Palm Treat is our gelato go to. The dark choco is not too sweet, almost like a choc brownie. I’m partial to the Soursop.

Good Morning café for croissants and a pizza at Bona Mama – the cocotte is our fave. I like to sit and watch it being made with a beverage and then back to our unit.

Randomly ran into Fabila and Dave today at Chez Leandra, lovely to hear their experiences, nice couple.

While I write, listening to Mongo Santamaria – like his version of Herbie Hancocks Watermelon man – might switch over to Toots and the Maytalls for dinner. Have a lovely tenderloin to grill from our local butcher in Burlington [ Ontario] – J&G meats – P&P know who I mean.

It’s been a windy week, here but given a little snow and ice at home, so still perfect - “Perfect” says Pop Larkin of Darling Buds of May – British series where Catherine Zeta Jones started her career in the early 1990’s on British tv – worth a watch for Catherine fans.

Signing off!
J&B

Sounds like you had a great start. The food looks and sounds wonderful. Pictures just can’t describe the beautiful pastries at Sebastian’s. We will be arriving next Thursday and are staying in the same complex as you.Perhaps we will bump into each other.

Lovely to meet you, John as well. You’ve given us a few new places to think about dining and future visits. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
