The day after we arrived, I started having cold symptoms, which I tried to manage myself with otc stuff. After over two weeks of feeling somewhat crappy, I decided I probably have a sinus infection, and went to the clinic behind Top Carrot today. I was in and out in ten minutes, with a prescription for a steroid nasal spray and an antibiotic, with instructions to take that only if the spray didn't work. The clinic fee was $70, and the meds were another $30. I was amazed at how quickly I was seen at the clinic. I already feel better. If you're concerned about the medical care on the island, don't be, at least for something minor. I wish I'd gone sooner.

Good deal. Most medical care experiences I have been a part of have been positive, with the exception of March of this year and the hospital losing power.

That had to be concerning! This was my first need for medical care on the island, and I put it off because I was afraid it would be a sh$tshow. I shouldn't have.

I couldn't agree more with your opinion on the clinic in Simpson Bay. It was a week before we renewed our vows and I thought I had pink eye and was panicking, so went to the clinic and the Doctor said it was a stye and gave me a prescription which cleared it up in a couple of days. I did get a better deal than you though, the receptionist said $70 but the Doctor said $50 will cover it. grin

Years ago, I had an eye infection and went to that clinic. I saw two doctors and they prescribed antibiotics. It cleared up in about three days and the bill was $70.
I have also gone to the Maho clinic with shingles. Saw the doctor, In and out in an hour with a prescription filled and the total cost was $100.

Fortunately, the medical care has never been for me but for the people I was with. I have had a couple of experiences with the Dutch-side hospital, and they were not that bad, until this time. Overall, whether it be medical, dental, prescription eyeglasses or pharmaceutical needs, most have been positive experiences.

Glad you had a good outcome.

I went to the Mullet Bay clinic last week for an ear infection and saw a doctor within the hour. The visit cost $150 and prescription another $90. Still having the same problem so went to the Simpson Bay clinic today. Only $70 for the visit and $8 for the prescription. Both visits were about an hour. Hopefully my insurance will pay for it all. I was hoping to get some diving in but not going to risk it with a bum ear.

I went to the Clinic in Maho.
The doctor gave me a couple of prescriptions, but not once did
he even check me. I had to ask him to at least look at my throat.
I think it was a lot of guesswork and payed $100.

I had gone the year before and saw a different doctor. If I remember, he did listen to my chest, etc, and
I felt more comfortable with the scripts he wrote.

Good decision. Could make it a lot worse.

Yep, this doctor didn't check anything either, I guess since I was pretty sure what my problem was. I probably got my $70 worth, lol.

Last year I lost a crown and needed the stump smoothed off. Made an appt. with dentist in Yacht Club for next morning. When I got there I was told dentist's drill broke. Receptionist made some calls and got me appointment that morning with Dr;. Halley on Corner Rd. His partner smoothed off the stump fine. Cost $75. Very fair.

Is this the urgent care center across from the Sol gas station in Simpson Bay that's open during the day & 6-9 Monday to Sunday?

No, this is the clinic located in the shopping center with Top Carrot. I think it's called Plaza de Lago.
