Thinking about a day trip to Anguilla tomorrow, Saturday, are weekends any better than weekdays - more crowded on weekend? Will be our first trip to Anguilla and will take the ferry from Marigot. Any advice much appreciated. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" /> I

Sunday is a good day to go if you like music on the beach. There is music on Shoal Bay East and a few other beaches. It is quiet most often through the week.

Probably just an exploration day as it will be our first time in Anguilla. Will rent a car at the ferry dock, presuming we do not need a reservation for a car.

Pretty sure you will need to take a cab for car pick up as I believe there are no car agencies at Blowing Point ferry arrival. If you need a taxi, may I recommend Frank, a very gracious driver. You may be able to arrange for a car to be at the ferry drop off, may need to do some homework.

The last time I took the ferry to Anguilla, there was someone there waiting to rent cars. We filled out the paperwork, including the Anguilla driver's license on the hood of the car in parking lot.

Thanks everyone. Now that our Internet service is restored we will start planning to get to Anguilla later this week, and will definitely research the rental car situation.

Yes, Andy's is at the dock and rents by the day. It is around 50.00 for the rental and 25.00 for an Anguilla Drivers License. I personally think a taxi tour is the way to go with a drop off and pick up time. You can ride at your leisure and sample rum punches along the way.
Be sure to take your passport and cash for exit fees.
Have a great trip.

We did have a great trip. Got a car from Andy's, super easy, and had a ball driving on the left side, and getting "lost" a couple of times. Fortunately had a GPS and that made all the difference. Delicious lunch at Elodia's at Shoal Bay East. Not much shopping to be had, but a very fun day, very different from SXM. Thanks again to all you great folks for your help.

Glad you enjoyed your trip! Shoal Bay is a favorite of ours and we love to have lunch at Elodia's! No, there isn't much shopping there which is why we enjoy it so much! We do our shopping on St. Maarten!
