I was wondering if SXM offers Fast track. Some airports in Caribbean have started offering a Fast track service. Some is for arrival only ( Barbados) where you will be esorted to a dedicated immigration and customs line. And some offers it for Departure (turks), where again you will be taken to a dedicated check in/ security and immigration line. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" />

Jamaica has that for arrival and departure. It is not available in SXM, except I guess for those with mega money, like those with private jets, who somehow pay to skip the lines all together.

We have Nexus passes and they have a nexus line through security at SXM we used it 2 weeks ago not sure how that compares to fast track but it sure speeds up the immigration and security process

Do they accept Global Entry members in that line?

From cpb.gov Global Entry
Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States.
NEXUS
The NEXUS program allows pre-screened travelers expedited processing when entering the United States and Canada. Program members use dedicated processing lanes at designated northern border ports of entry, NEXUS kiosks when entering Canada by air and Global Entry kiosks when entering the United States via Canadian Preclearance airports. NEXUS members also receive expedited processing at marine reporting locations.
Does not appear that SXM should be able to process Nexus according to this. Also, it appears if you are Global Entry you are Nexus too as you are already 'pre-screened' as a global entry member.

Other than paying for a VIP service - that will just walk you through to the head of every line - to the best of my knowledge, there is no fast track or priority lines of any kind available at SXM.

It's available in Canada and when you apply for it you also get Global entry. We live in a border city and it helps with lines when driving across the US/Canadian border. With Global Entry you do finger prints and with Nexus it's an eye scan.

Ok, haven't been to Canada in YEARS, so I'm sure that it wasn't even available the last time we went to Canada.

A tad OT but following the lead:
We went to Quebec City 2 years ago (drove) and there was no difference in the huge lines (traffic lanes) returning to the USA...we are going to Nova Scotia in August and expect the same on returning.
(We have had global entry for 3+ years)

Boucharda it really depends which border you cross at how bad the lines can be. In Niagara Falls there is even a Nexus only bridge. Best money I ever spent was getting my Nexus card for crossing the border.

Best money I ever spent was getting my Nexus card for crossing the border. Depending on where you're going in Canada, we crossed a new bridge east of Niagra Falls (can't remember town) off Rte 81 . Name Ogdenburn sounds like it. Anyway, the agent joked with us that we found "the secret" to avoiding the backup at Niagra. My point is, if your destination isn't the Falls but just getting into Canada someplace nearby try it.

I know there are less used crossings but my comment was directed to the Global Entry being used with vehicle entry comment. I don't think that is a reality
