I haven't posted any reports, since we don't do anything exciting. I have posted some pictures for those on FB SXMorBust and my personal page. I don't have a way to post them here, but may have some help for a couple taken recently.
Our one highlight of this trip,so far, was our day at Anse Marcel. The beach is gorgeous and the lunch was fantastic. We hope to go back along with other places we have never been. We really get a case of sand gravity while in SXM.

But those of us who are members do appreciate the photos, as well as the notification here that they are available.
If it were easier to post photos here, I'm sure more would post them. I find it very difficult and complicated to post photos here, compared with the ease of posting with just one click on Facebook.

It is not difficult to post pictures here, if you have them stored somewhere on line. And they can be uploaded to our picture forum, if they are under a certain size.

I think the size issue is what's been the biggest problem for me. But frankly, I don't like having to post my photos to two different sites to get them here. I no longer put any photos on Picasa, which is what I used to use. I just find Facebook easier, but I do understand it's not for everyone.

I have to agree Georgia. I have tried a few times to change my profile picture but haven't had any luck so I gave up. I also don't upload my pictures anywhere and don't understand the picture sizing thing. Sorry I can't help you Terry but maybe someone here can?

Terry and Rit, great photos! Carol, thanks for posting! I also prefer to post pics on Facebook and find it difficult to post here. For me it's the sizing issue, and so many steps, so much easier and quicker to post to FB directly from my phone! Better to post somewhere than not at all! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Better to post somewhere than not at all! Except for those who are not on facebook or are not welcome in the "closed" groups. No way to access the pictures.

How about posting step by step instructions on posting pictures here including sizing. Sounds like a lot of members here including me could use this. Not all of us are computer literate.

Not all of us are computer literate. There are a couple of discussions under the "Frequently Asked Questions" heading on the main page that deal with posting pictures. Perhaps Carol can add if anything has changed with doing this.

All I do is email the picture to myself in Outlook and select the "medium" size, in order to resize it. Then you go to the St Maarten/St. Martin picture forum, and create a new thread, put SOMETHING in the post and click on the "I want to preview my post and/or attach a photo" and upload the picture. Once it's uploaded there, right click on the picture and the "properties" will show you the url of the picture, when you then use to IMAGE tag to post.

I just copied and pasted your instructions on Word and printed it out for future reference. Thanks again and I'm sure others thank you too.

The easiest no-signup (no username/password needed) is: http://postimage.org/At the end of a few options you have a clickable image that will open up as a .jpg in the address bar....copy the address and then paste it with the img option here. The entire process can be done in much less than a minute.

The condos to the right are called Bay View Condos and are privately owned.

Elizabeth is correct as far as the name of the complex. I'm not sure how many of them are for rent, but at least one of them is, as I have seen it.

Thanks Carol!!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> I was worried they were too big. Did you have to size them?
I will try to do it soon. I am taking pictures on my phone and tablet, then I will email them to this ancient little laptop we bring. Wish me luck. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/smashpc.gif" alt="" />
Thank-you Mantas for the website.

Yes, they had to be re-sized, but as I said, all I do is email them to myself in Outlook, hit size 'medium' and voila!

glad postimg.org worked....you probably want to select the 15 inch monitor (800x600) for your resizing which is in the dropdown option right under browse

Absolutely! A calm day at Mullet, if there's no drop off into the water, it almost doesn't get any better than that!

You should use the IMAGE tag, not a link.. Just to finish up my instructions on postimg.org. I thought it was clickable but the easiest way to get the actual link in the address bar is to click and drag the picture into the address bar(should work for most browsers)....then copy that link location of the image....(Surf has that procedure nailed down up to this point). Lastly, as Carol said use the Image link in the code box which will trigger a popup like below....paste the Image link in that box.

I don't know if this will work, but I will throw it out there because I am an idea man. I think the board owners should hire a photographer to live full time on the island and field requests for the photos that you want taken. TTOL could hire this person out for photographing visitors trips and handling the posting to the boards. TTOL could underwrite the total cost of this program by asking the French side government to create a special tariff.
Also, if anyone really wanted to posts their pictures, they would learn the steps. They are not onerous.
Be Happy! Simply because you deserve to be. 😁
